Discovering Jimmy Park in Yilan: A Whimsical World of Art and Nostalgia

Located just steps from Yilan Railway Station, Jimmy Park (幾米公園) is a vibrant outdoor art space inspired by the beloved works of Taiwanese illustrator Jimmy Liao. Originally an abandoned railway staff dormitory area, the site was transformed into Taiwan’s first Jimmy-themed plaza, preserving historic buildings while infusing them with whimsical sculptures and storybook charm.

The park features over 100 imaginative sculptures, including familiar characters from Jimmy’s picture books, a giant slide, and an interactive fountain. It’s a favorite spot for photography, leisurely strolls, and family outings. Entry is free, making it a perfect stop for travelers of all ages.

Operation Hours:
Jimmy Park is open daily, typically from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, though hours may vary slightly by season.

Best Time to Visit:
For ideal weather and fewer chances of rain, plan your visit between October and May. Autumn (September–November) offers mild temperatures and vibrant scenery, while spring (March–May) is also pleasant and less crowded.

Tips for Visitors:

Wear comfortable shoes for walking.
Bring a camera—every corner is Instagram-worthy.
Consider visiting nearby attractions like Luodong Night Market or Jiaoxi Hot Springs.
