Jiulongji Waterfall is located in Qibu Township, Zhouning County, 14 kilometers southeast of the city. It consists of nine cascades, large and small, with a total drop of 300 meters. Legend has it that in ancient times, nine dragons gathered in the state, forming nine dragon pools, hence the name.　

Each of the nine waterfalls boasts unique features. The first tier is the most spectacular, measuring 46.7 meters high and 76 meters wide, reaching a depth of 83 meters during flood season . The waterfall cascades over a steep cliff face, plunging into a deep pool with a thunderous roar that shakes the valley. The cascading waterfall creates a misty haze that permeates the valley. When the setting sun shines, it transforms into a dazzling rainbow across the sky.

To the upper right of the waterfall, a 14- meter-diameter pool nestles between the falls, nicknamed " Dragon's Eye . " The fourth tier, called Dragon's Tooth Waterfall, is 46 meters long. A protruding rock, resembling a dragon's tooth, splits the waterfall in two, hence the name. The two streams cascade into a 2,800- square-meter " Crouching Dragon Pond . "

The sixth to ninth tiers form a series of successive waterfalls, known as the " Four-fold Waterfall . " The four- tier waterfall descends 692 meters. Studded with unusually shaped rocks, they resemble various forms, including " Dragon Well , " " Dragon Spine , " " Dragon Horn , " " Dragon Armor , " " Dragon Claw , " and " Dragon Ball . " Below the ninth tier is a 120- meter-long pool where visitors can enjoy boating and marvel at the surrounding mountain scenery.
