Background and Development: A playground grown from "a single grain of rice"

Yimitte's core focus is to make rice culture accessible and fun. Indoor exhibits showcase the evolution and production of rice-based snacks, while merchandise displays range from OKAKI crisps, rice krispies, rice crackers, and various mochi varieties. Outdoors, the park incorporates the Su'ao carbonated cold spring elements, with free water and foot baths. In the summer, everyone enjoys a cup of red bean water, enjoying a refreshing dip and chatting, creating a truly local experience. These facilities and DIY classes have been touted as "Must-Dos for Families in Su'ao" by many official and hotel travel websites.

Follow My Photos: A Half-Day Experience at Yimit

1) Forest Trails and Guide Map: Get to Know the Park Before You Go

On one side of the entrance, a swaying green path and a colorful guide map clearly outline the routes to the cold spring area, outdoor play equipment, indoor exhibits, and DIY classrooms. Following the map, elders won't get lost.

2) Indoor Exhibits: Dessert Cabinets, Oversized Packages, and Generous Samples

Entering the museum, a refrigerator is overflowing with desserts like snowberry puddings, mochi, and puffs. Next to it is a wall of souvenirs, with rice crackers and gift boxes stacked in a pyramid. Staff members frequently offer samples. I liked the crispy texture and lightly seasoned rice crackers, which were quite enjoyable. The prices are reasonable for a tourist factory—gift boxes are available for a few hundred yuan.

3) DIY Class: Make your own "Snowberry Girl" in 20-30 minutes.

DIY classes require in-person registration or phone reservations. Children can make their own mochi dough and wrap strawberries and cream. It's a fun and sticky experience. Children under 6 must be accompanied by a parent. You can eat immediately after the class or take it on the bus for afternoon tea.

4) Outdoor Cold Spring and Relaxation: Put a waterproof case on your phone before entering the water.

Su'ao is famous for its cold springs, which the park has transformed into a free foot bath/play area, making it incredibly popular in the summer. It's recommended to bring a towel and a change of socks, and slippers for children. After playing in the water, enjoy the breeze on the wooden boardwalk, which is shaded by trees and grassy areas. It's easy to spend over half an hour there.

What to do for your first time? (Includes a suggested cost)
1. Arrive → Explore the indoor area: Follow the guide's tour, sample a few rice crackers, and choose a souvenir to take home. 2. DIY Registration: Focuses on snowberry and mochi making (20-30 minutes). Material fees vary per person. On-site registration for groups of 10 or less; reservations must be made three days in advance for groups of 10 or more.

3. Outdoor Cold Spring + Playground Equipment: Soak your feet and take photos when it's hot.

4. Takeaway: Take souvenirs and freshly made desserts in your car. Free admission and parking are available at the park, making it a great escape for families.

My Real Moment

I arrived in the afternoon. The rain had just stopped, the leaves dripped, and the wooden boardwalk carried a faint woody fragrance. The factory's cooler was sparkling, and I picked out strawberry snowberry puddings and a box of rice crackers. In the DIY workshop, children puffed their gloves up like they were making asteroids. After waiting for the dessert to cool for more than ten minutes, I took my paper cup and sat down by the outdoor cold spring. Fine bubbles curled against my skin, and my mind cleared. Before leaving, I placed my freshly made snowberry pudding on the passenger seat. The car was filled with the faint aroma of rice—sometimes, travel is about bringing the fragrance of a single grain of rice home.
