- Attractions & Experiences:
- Swallow Rock Cave: A 20°C constant-temperature karst cave that's like a natural air-conditioned room. Features a "Lost Planet" zone with swarming swallows at night, an underground waterfall, a transparent glass café, and a giant moon installation – perfect for photos.
- Grand Canyon Rafting: Located in Mangshan National Forest Park with scenery reminiscent of Western Sichuan. The 9.8km route has a 298m vertical drop with crystal-clear water – thrilling during high water season like riding a rollercoaster on mineral water.
- Tiantai Mountain: Also in Mangshan Park, accessible via shuttle bus and elevator for easy hiking. Prime spot for sunrise and sea of clouds views (high altitude means warm clothes needed even in summer).
- Wanfu Cave (Million Bats Cave): Named for its former bat inhabitants, featuring stunning stalactites, stalagmites and stone columns resembling an upside-down forest. The light show creates dreamlike 3D visuals without glasses.
- Transportation: 3.5hr drive from Guangzhou. Alternatively, take HSR to Lechang Station (1.5hr taxi) or Chenzhou West Station (2hr taxi).
- Accommodation: Recommended Yanlai Mountain Retreat (from ¥150/person) – a Hakka-style boutique homestay near Swallow Rock, just 10min from Mangshan Park. Mountain-view suites with terraces available.
- More Experiences:
* Cave restaurant featured on "China's Flavors" TV show, serving Yao ethnic bamboo-tray feasts and local chicken hotpot with Yao girls' toast performances.
* Outdoor activities: rainbow slide, ATV rides, cloud walking bridge, and ziplines.
