Pempek is one of the local dishes in Yogyakarta. It is essentially fish cake that is stuffed with a hard boiled egg. The dish is served with sweet or spicy sauce that you have to drench the pempek in. No dipping, drenching and soaking the pempek in the sauce.

You have to visit this particular restaurant chain. The one I visited is along Malioboro road, down one of their alleyway. Staff speaks simple english and they accept credit card payment.
