Shizuoka & Yokohama, a travelogue that enjoys nature and the city together

#July Travel Support Fund

This trip started in Shizuoka and continued to Yokohama. The atmosphere of the two cities was completely different, but each had its own distinct charm, so I was satisfied with the short trip.

First, in Shizuoka, I went to Miho-no-Matsubara where I could see Mt. Fuji up close. The pine forest and the sea connected, and the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji standing behind it was truly picturesque. Then, at Lake Motosu, one of the Fuji Five Lakes, I could see the reverse Fuji reflected in the lake. I was amazed to see the scenery on the back of the 1,000 yen bill unfold before my eyes.

I also stopped by the Shizuoka green tea fields to admire the endless green scenery, and I drank the green tea right there, which had a really deep aroma and taste. Finally, I went down to the Izu Peninsula and enjoyed a hot spring bath at Atami Onsen while looking out at the sea, which was perfect healing.

Yokohama, which I moved to after that, showed a completely different charm. First, I tried various Chinese foods in Yokohama Chinatown, and the dim sum and xiaolongbao were especially delicious. Next, I went to Minato Mirai 21 and enjoyed the scenery of modern high-rise buildings and the ocean view, and the night view was so gorgeous in the evening.

Lastly, I went up on the Ferris wheel at Yokohama Cosmo World and looked down at the city and the ocean, and I could feel a different urban sensibility from the nature of Shizuoka.

This trip was a schedule to enjoy nature and healing in Shizuoka and the city and gourmet food in Yokohama. The two cities showed different charms, so each day was rich and memorable.
