[Kanagawa/Yokohama🇯🇵] Chinatown's hidden cafe & general store🛍 Manrai-gyo

Facing the main street of Yokohama Chinatown, Banraikyo is a shop with two faces: a colorful souvenir shop selling Chinese goods on the first floor, and a hidden, exotic China cafe on the second floor.

The shop's greatest appeal is that, despite being located in the heart of Chinatown, it offers a quiet, calm space where you can relax and forget the hustle and bustle. The souvenir shop on the first floor is packed with a wide variety of stylish Chinese goods, including jade and natural stone accessories purchased directly from China, colorful satin drawstring bags, and artisan tea, making it a pleasure to just browse. Then, up the stairs at the back of the store, you'll find the cafe on the second floor, where you'll find a space with an Asian and exotic feel, with Chinese paintings adorning the calming blue walls.

Unusually for Chinatown, the smoking and non-smoking areas are separated, making it convenient for smokers and also relatively comfortable for those who don't like cigarettes. The menu offers authentic Chinese teas like Pu'er tea and craft tea, as well as coffee, juice, and sweets like Chinatown's famous Ma Laikou. It's the perfect place to rest your weary feet after a day of sightseeing and take a quiet break in a tranquil, otherworldly atmosphere.
