“A day trip to the Joseon Dynasty, an emotional outing to the Korean Folk Village🌾”

#TravelGuide #KoreanFolkVillage

Hello :)
Today, I brought you a review of the Yongin Korean Folk Village, a day that feels like time travel!
People wearing hanbok, thatched houses, traditional food, and realistic Joseon Dynasty acting everywhere!

It's a place where you can immerse yourself all day long as if you were the main character of a historical drama.

🚗 Location & Directions

I got there by car from Seoul in about an hour.
The parking lot is spacious and well-organized, so it wasn't stressful, and public transportation is easily accessible by subway and bus!

🎫 An exciting space from the moment you enter

Once you pass the ticket booth, you'll be greeted by a scenery that feels like you've been in a time machine.
You can see a village where traditional costumes blend naturally between dirt roads, tiles, and wooden fences.
There's also a hanbok rental shop near the entrance, so it's fun to walk around in hanbok with friends.

🌾 Things to see - Living Joseon

Korean Folk Village is not just a museum, but a living, breathing traditional village.

There are various points of interest:
• Village streets lined with noblemen's houses and thatched-roof houses
• Traditional games and food experiences at the market
• Situational dramas performed by real actors (e.g., secret royal inspector, magistrate experience, scenes of wronged citizens appearing, etc.)
• Real exhibits of old weapons, torture tools, palanquins, etc.

The actors make the acting so realistic that everyone from children to adults can get immersed.

Sometimes they let the audience participate, so be nervous when you make eye contactㅎㅎ

🍡 Food - Traditional snack heaven

You won't have time to be hungry!
They sell a variety of things such as tteokbokki, traditional yakgwa, injeolmi ice cream, honey hotteok, and traditional makgeolli.
There is also bottled beer packaged in the shape of traditional liquor, and you can also have a meal with janchi noodles and traditional lunch boxes.

I recharged with Injeolmi ice cream and hotteok 🍯

🧒 Recommended for families, couples, and friends
• If you go with children, you can experience the folk games zone by spinning tops, playing tug-of-war, and jumping rope,
• For couples, there are so many great spots to take pictures wearing hanbok.
• If you go with friends, the play theater with actors and mask dance are guaranteed to be fun!

And there are festivals every season. Flower viewing in spring, night opening in summer, Chuseok events in fall, and Seollal events in winter.

📸 Best photo spots
• Traditional waterside path with wooden bridges and ponds
• Emotional photos taken while sitting in front of thatched-roof houses
• Hanbok selfies under the lanterns at the market
• Certification shots with secret royal inspector badges are also popular!

☀️ Final Review

A natural transition from the modern era to the Joseon Dynasty,
Korean Folk Village is a place where learning, fun, and experience all come together.

Especially if you only remember it as a school trip when you were young,
it's completely different when you go back now. There are so many more things to see, eat, and enjoy.

Next time, I want to go again during the season, during the night opening or festival season!
I'll definitely recommend it on a day when you want to walk quietly and heal🌙
