We took a family road trip to Yufuin this time.
1. There are plenty of parking lots, but some roads leading to them are narrow, and pedestrians may walk right next to your car.
2. This trip brought us to the most crowded tourist spots, where we heard a mix of languages including Mandarin, Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese, and English filling the air.
3. Recommended places to visit include Floral Village, Neko-no-Kaburi-ya (Cat Mask House), Sakura-ya Hōnōgyū (next to Neko-no-Kaburi-ya), Nakatsu Kichigo, and Kinrin Lake.
4. Initially, we planned to have lunch at Shin Kamameshi, but the crowd was overwhelming. After seeing the long queue, we decided to skip it and found another nice restaurant along the way. This restaurant had a self-ordering machine where you select your meal, take the ticket, and hand it to the staff. Ordering was straightforward, but the challenge was choosing the dish by tapping on the screen.
5. The weather was fantastic, but visiting during cooler times might be more comfortable.
6. Be prepared to walk a lot during the trip, and always keep an eye on the stamina of elderly family members.
