"First Copper Buddha in Southeast Asia" at Yuntian Palace, Yulin

✴️Yuntian Cultural City, also known as Yuntian Palace, is a giant ancient-style palace building that combines traditional Chinese culture and famous architectural styles. It presents the history and culture of the Chinese nation through three series of artistic expressions: stone carving, wood carving, and bronze casting. The highlight is the 30-meter-high attic on the sixth floor, weighing 660 tons, made of more than 1,000 copper pieces, and known as the "First Copper Buddha in Southeast Asia."
✴️During construction, the foundation could not be drilled deeper than 36 meters. After investigation, it was found that the entire foundation was a complete original stone millstone comparable to a diamond, like a cloud floating beneath the earth, supporting the majestic palace, hence the name "Yuntian."
✴️Most of the building materials are made of thousand-year-old cypress wood from Alishan, Taiwan. Upon entering, you can see a lighthouse made of a whole piece of cypress wood over 2,000 years old. Walking through the exquisite entrance gate, you will see an elegant garden landscape, a pure wooden corridor with exquisite wood carvings above the walkway, a pavilion roof with mortise and tenon structure without a single nail, a beautiful stone bridge, precious koi fish, and two giant dragon columns on the square, twice the height of the Tiananmen Huabiao, usually placed in front of palaces. At the entrance of the square stands a precious Luohan pine, valued at 15 million, over a thousand years old, extremely rare and precious. In the center of the square is a huge bronze sculpture, a golden gourd with a delicate dragon-shaped base, a giant golden rooster standing on a huge bronze drum, symbolizing the golden rooster announcing the dawn, a pair of auspicious stone qilin sculptures, a pair of phoenix stone sculptures, two giant ten-thousand-year-old spirit turtles, and two golden horses galloping on the earth. Inside Yuntian Palace, the cypress wood ceiling is like a palace, exquisite and luxurious, displaying handmade exquisite wooden artifacts, jade, bronze, and the largest and top-level shrine on the fourth floor.
