Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the deepest and most beautiful canyons in the world. Located in Yunnan Province, China, between Lijiang and Shangri-La, the Jinsha River, part of the Yangtze River, flows through the gorge.
🌄 Highlights of Tiger Leaping Gorge
• Spectacular Landscape: The gorge stretches for approximately 15–23 kilometers and is surrounded by the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (5,596 meters) and the Haba Snow Mountain (5,396 meters).
• Narrowest Point: The river is only 20–25 meters wide at the point where, according to legend, a tiger leaped across the river to escape a hunter. This is where the name Tiger Leaping Gorge comes from.
• Depth: The difference in elevation from the river to the summit is approximately 3,790–3,900 meters, making it one of the deepest gorges in the world.

• Trekking: There are three main trekking routes covering the upper, middle, and lower parts of the gorge. This 2-day, 1-night trek is ideal for adventurers.
• Natural Views: Cliffside viewing platforms, rapids, and the Jinshajiang River Bridge, completed in 2020.

• From Lijiang The journey takes approximately 2–3 hours by car or bus.
• The gorge is approximately 80 kilometers from Lijiang and 96 kilometers from Shangri-La.
