During a past visit to Shangjin Ancient City, also known as Liuzhou City, I was captivated by its historical significance and scenic beauty. Located in Shangjin Town, northwest of Yunxi County, Hubei Province, this ancient city sits on the eastern bank of the Jinquan River and is famously referred to as the "Gateway of Qin and Chu" and "The Emperor's Ferry."
Exploring the Shangjin City Wall, one of China's longest city walls at about 12 meters high and stretching 8 kilometers, was impressive. Shangjin Ancient Street, the main commercial street, showcased Ming and Qing architectural styles and offered various local delicacies. Shangjin Lake, with its crystal-clear waters and lush greenery, provided an idyllic setting for leisurely walks.
Wearing comfortable shoes and being mindful of preserving the ancient buildings and artifacts is essential. Shangjin Ancient City's historical charm and cultural richness make it a must-visit destination. 🌿😊
