Recommended activities and hotels in Yuxi

📍The location is more convenient than expected
The hotel is located at 47 Fuxin Road, Fenghuang Subdistrict, a 10-minute walk from the high-speed rail station. 🚗 There's no bustling commercial area nearby, and it's mostly an old neighborhood populated by locals. Snack shops and fruit stalls are just a short walk away. During an evening stroll, you can smell the aroma of cooking 🍲, which gives you a strange sense of homecoming.
🛌The room has my favorite minimalist style.
I stayed in a south-facing king-size room with natural wood furniture and off-white bedding. It was clean and bright ✨. Sitting there in the afternoon, sipping tea and watching the street scene, time seemed to slow down. 🍵 The mattress was just the right firmness, and I slept through it naturally that night, a rare night without getting stuck in my bed. 🌞

Morning | A Stroll in Hongtashan Park
Hongtashan Park is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel. 🌳 In the morning, there are fewer people, and the park's lush vegetation makes it a perfect place for a leisurely stroll and deep breathing. Climbing to a higher point, you can see the outline of Hongta District's old town, and occasionally hear locals chatting in their dialect while doing morning exercises. It's a great place to experience everyday life in Yuxi.
Afternoon | Half-Day Tour of Fuxian Lake
Driving about 40 minutes from the hotel, you'll reach Moon Bay Wetland Park on the north shore of Fuxian Lake. Known as "Kunming's Little Sanya," admission is 30 yuan per person (deductible against park purchases). 🌴 On the south side of the lake lies a coconut-lined beach with fine white sand and crystal-clear water. Relax in a beach chair or rent a sightseeing bike for a ride along the lake. If you have more time, explore the nearby Cherry Blossom Valley or the Fuxian Lake Sailing Base.
Evening | Savoring Xiaomiao Street
Back in the city, stroll Xiaomiao Street, not far from the hotel. It's home to a variety of local snacks, such as copper pot fish, bean paste candy, and cold rice noodle rolls. Don't look for internet-famous restaurants; follow the aroma and wander into a small, bustling establishment—you'll usually find your way there.
