🏨Naeba Prince Hotel (Naeba Prince Hotel)
💞Recommended:
Naeba Ski Resort is Japan's most popular and busiest ski resort, located in Echigo-Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture. It's also known for its "night skiing" and "spring snow" (spring snow) activities. "Night skiing" means skiing at night, while "spring snow" means skiing in spring, starting at the end of March. We visited Naeba Ski Resort in March and stayed at the Naeba Prince Hotel, which is right outside the hotel, offering a ski area. Naeba offers 24 ski slopes suitable for beginners, intermediates, and experts. A 12-seat gondola provides access up and down the mountain. The longest run is 4,000 meters with a maximum slope of 34 degrees. There's also a family snow park and an indoor children's practice area.
Transportation Tips: From JR Tokyo Station, take the Joetsu Shinkansen to JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station. The one-way reserved seat fare is 6,590 yen (reserved seats are recommended). If you plan to visit Karuizawa for shopping, Nikko Toshogu Shrine, or the Omiya Railway Museum, a 3-day JR Tokyo Wide Pass is a good option. After arriving at JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station, take the Naeba Prince Hotel shuttle bus (pre-booked). The journey from Echigo-Yuzawa to Naeba takes about 30 minutes. The return trip also requires a pre-booked shuttle bus, making transportation relatively simple.
I highly recommend staying at the Naeba Prince Hotel, which boasts over 1,200 guest rooms. Buildings 2, 3, 4, and 6 are currently open. Building 2, the tallest building, offers suites, connecting rooms, and family twin rooms. All rooms in Building 3 face the ski slopes. Building 4 primarily offers twin and quad rooms, and Building 6 is all twin. Choose a room type to suit your budget. While this 60-year-old Prince Hotel may be a bit dated, its rooms are clean and fully equipped. The hotel itself offers a variety of leisure activities, including dining, shopping, and hot springs. The hotel also includes a food court, a convenience store, a souvenir shop, a drugstore, and, of course, a sporting goods store, making it a great place for non-skiers to spend a day. The hotel also offers ski equipment rentals. With the exception of my beanie and underwear, everything else I rented was affordable. My gear was practically new and of excellent quality, so I didn't need to wear too much underneath. The hotel also offers ski lessons for all levels, including children's lessons. The hotel reception and instructors offer Chinese-speaking services, making it highly recommended for those looking to try skiing or snow. March in Niigata offers a mix of sunny and stormy weather, with consistently low temperatures and minimal crowds, making it a perfect time to visit Naeba.
