Zermatt, Switzerland: Hiking Tips for the Five Lakes! 🇨🇭

[Trip Moment Delivery.🗞️]
On this trip, I went on the 5-Seenweg, a hike along the five lakes of the Alps! 🇨🇭🥾💙

🛄ㅣThe Best Hiking Route Along the Matterhorn
The 5-Seenweg (Five Lakes Walk) is the most popular trekking route in the Zermatt area. Starting at Blauherd Station at 2,571 meters above sea level, the trail passes five alpine lakes and descends towards Sunnegga.
The total length is approximately 9.8 kilometers, and the walk takes about 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours 30 minutes. The elevation change is relatively gentle, making it a great course for beginners. With every step, the Matterhorn changes from a different angle, making it a "postcard walk."

🌿 Introducing Five Lakes
1️⃣ Stellisee – The most famous lake, with its perfect reflection of the Matterhorn. It's also a popular sunrise spot.
2️⃣ Grindjisee – A mystical lake with the Matterhorn reflected in the forest and grass. Its quiet surroundings make it a popular spot for photographers.
3️⃣ Grünsee – True to its name, the lake is tinged with green. In summer, people sit by the water and enjoy lunch.
4️⃣ Moosjisee – A lake formed by glacial meltwater, its unique turquoise hue creates a striking contrast in photos.
5️⃣ Leisee – A calm lake popular with families, with the Matterhorn in the background. It's great for water play and is located near the Sunnegga viewing platform.

🏞️ Changes according to season and weather
In summer (June-October), the autumn foliage warms the lake's colors, while in winter, some sections are covered in snow, transforming it from a hiking trail to a skiing trail.
The clearer the weather, the clearer the reflection of the lake, while cloudy days create a mystical atmosphere.

✅️ | Travel Tips
1️⃣ Route – Zermatt → Sunnegga (Punkula) → Blauherd (Gondola) → Start of the 5-Seenweg. The trail ends at Sunnegga and returns to the village via Punkula.
2️⃣ Recommended Time – We recommend departing between 8 and 9 a.m. This is when the sun begins to illuminate the Matterhorn, resulting in the clearest photos.
3️⃣ What to Bring – Due to the large temperature difference at high altitudes, long-sleeved clothing is essential even in summer. Water, sunscreen, snacks, and sunglasses are also essential. 4️⃣ Tips for shortening your hike time – Depending on your stamina, you can choose a route that takes you directly down to Sunnegga after Grindjisee.
5️⃣ Photo Spots – Stellisee and Leisee are prime spots for capturing the most beautiful reflections of the Matterhorn, so aim for a calm morning.
