《24-Hour Stay at Zhangjiagang Marriott》

I went on a staycation over the weekend and stayed at Zhangjiagang Marriott, which is known as the "Little Ritz-Carlton of Southern Jiangsu," for 24 hours without leaving the hotel.

1. Room

I am a Platinum member and booked a room two weeks in advance with 11,000 points. I was upgraded to a suite three days before check-in. The 90-square-meter room was very comfortable. When I opened the door, the curtains opened automatically. The 270-square-meter floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedroom made me feel free and relaxed.

2. Executive Lounge

The Executive Lounge lives up to its reputation as the "Little Ritz-Carlton." It is one of the best lounges in the Marriott brand. The afternoon tea has a wide variety of fruits and desserts. There are five or six hot dishes for dinner. The pork neck in the barbecue platter was delicious. I ate a whole plate. There was also a lot of roast duck rolls. There were also many main courses, soups, and cold dishes. You can have a hearty dinner here.

I don't know much about the wine in the lounge, but I could tell there was a wide variety. The staff can also make cocktails. We had a special cocktail on Saturday. After dinner, we walked around the hotel and found a beautiful wine bottle tree.

3. Breakfast

The breakfast was not amazing, but it was worth the price. It was a standard Marriott breakfast. The noodles and omelets were good. The highlights were the fresh watermelon juice and ice cream. The chocolate ice cream was delicious.

4. Overall

Zhangjiagang has limited tourist resources, but whether you pay more than CNY 700 in cash or use 11,000 points, staying here is a worthwhile experience.
