Introduction to the scenic area: Dajingmen Great Wall is one of the four great passes of the Great Wall, along with Shanhaiguan, Juyongguan, and Jiayuguan, known as the first gate of the Great Wall. The phrase 'Great Rivers and Mountains' on the wall was inscribed by local leader Gao Weiyue in 1972
Location: Qiaoxi District, Zhangjiakou City
Dajingmen Ticket Price: 13 yuan (no ticket required for single entry into the ancient city)
Touring Time: 1-3 hours
Travel Tips: The scenic area has two gates, north and south; Dajingmen is at the north gate, and the parking lot P is at the south gate. The flat road on the Dajingmen wall is actually quite short; heading west up the mountain to the end is a 3.7km long path, most of which is walking beside the remnants of the wall (the stairs are quite steep, so those with poor physical strength may choose not to climb). There is a pavilion on the mountain top with a very good view, from which you can see the whole ancient city and part of Zhangjiakou City.
