Dajingmen, located at the northern end of Zhangjiakou city, between the towering East and West Taiping Mountains, is a well-known Great Wall pass. It is the key to the border and has a dangerous situation. It has always been a battleground for military strategists.
Dajing Gate was first built in the first year of the Shunzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1644 AD) and has a history of more than 350 years. On the lintel are four large characters "Great Rivers and Mountains" written in 1927 by Gao Weiyue, the local military and political leader of Chahar at that time. The characters are vigorous and magnificent.
On your way to the Grassland Sky Road, you can stop by, climb the Great Wall, and see the ancient city gate.
