Introduction:
The Great Wall Gate is a landmark of Zhangjiakou and one of the four major passes of the Great Wall of China, along with Shanhaiguan, Juyongguan, and Jiayuguan.
It is also the only pass along the Great Wall named after a "gate", and is known as the "First Gate of the Great Wall".
The Great Wall Gate is bordered by the outer Great Wall built during the Ming Dynasty, which stretches and connects at both ends. Together with the inner Great Wall in the Badaling area, they form an important barrier to protect the capital.
It is also an important commercial and material exchange center in the north.
