Chongli Trip During National Day: Late Autumn Like an Oil Painting and Childlike Fun in the Mountains and Fields

During the National Day Golden Week, Chongli has long shed the fresh green of summer and donned the most intense attire of late autumn. As soon as the car enters Chongli, the scenery outside the window suddenly changes — the forests on both sides of the road look as if nature has overturned its palette, with gold, orange-red, and light brown interwoven and layered, blending together. From afar, the entire mountain range looks like a richly colored oil painting, and every snapshot is a wallpaper that needs no filter. This feeling is completely different from my visit here in midsummer, when Chongli was a cool secret place at 20 degrees Celsius, with lush greenery all over the mountains, an excellent escape from the city’s summer heat; but in late autumn, it gains a sense of depth and warmth, with every leaf vein soaked in the charm of the season.
Our first stop was Cuiyun Mountain International Tourism Resort. Upon entering the scenic area, we were warmed by the electric shuttle service at the entrance, which is very convenient for families with children and luggage, eliminating the need to walk.
Riding the cable car up to the mountain top, the view became more magnificent. The forests below were a mix of red and yellow, with varying shades weaving an endless tapestry stretching to the horizon. Looking far away, the European-style buildings of Fulong Ski Resort were faintly visible, their red roofs and white walls standing out in the sea of trees; the ski trails of Anaya Shixuechuan Ski Resort were clearly outlined, and even without snow, one could imagine the thrill of skiing in winter; further mountains shrouded in mist were said by friends to be Wanlong Ski Resort, appearing mysteriously in the autumn colors. Standing on the mountaintop viewing platform, the autumn breeze brushed my face, carrying the fresh scent of grass and trees, overlooking this land dyed by the season, and all fatigue vanished.
Cuiyun Mountain’s family-friendly facilities were a delightful surprise, with two playgrounds specially designed for children aged 3-7, becoming a paradise of joy for kids. The park was filled with non-powered play equipment, including slides, trampolines, and climbing nets, where children ran and played freely, their faces glowing with pure smiles. Besides these, there were gentle pirate ships and fun drifting rides. Our child played in the park all afternoon and reluctantly left only when it closed.
The next day, we went to Anaya Shixuechuan. The atmosphere here was completely different from Cuiyun Mountain — much quieter and more relaxed, with less noise and a more artistic vibe. The activities in the park were more suitable for slightly older children. The mountain biking experience thrilled the kids, riding along dedicated tracks, feeling both speed and excitement while enjoying the autumn scenery; the long slide was extremely popular, with kids zooming down on boards, the wind roaring in their ears along with their laughter; there were also gentle and cute ponies, which children could ride under staff guidance, enjoying close contact with animals. However, one thing to note is that the food options in both parks were relatively limited and simple in flavor. To eat well, it’s recommended to drive to Chongli County, where many local specialty restaurants serve dishes like iron pot stew, roasted lamb chops, and Youmian Wowo (a local noodle dish), satisfying your taste buds.
On the last day of the trip, we checked in at Fulong Tourism Resort. Unlike the other scenic areas, Fulong requires an entrance fee. The entire resort features European-style architecture, with pointed castles, colorful wooden houses, and winding stone paths. Combined with the surrounding autumn scenery, it felt like instantly traveling to a European town, full of exotic charm. Strolling through the park, you can see carefully arranged flower beds and sculptures everywhere, and the aroma from street-side cafes fills the air. Many tourists take photos here, capturing this unique travel memory.
In just three days in Chongli, we enjoyed the oil painting-like beauty of the late autumn forests and experienced the unique charm of different resorts. Whether it was the childlike joy of Cuiyun Mountain, the quiet comfort of Anaya, or the exotic atmosphere of Fulong, all left us reluctant to leave. Autumn here offers both the grandeur of nature and the warmth of family interaction, making it an excellent choice for a National Day Golden Week trip. If summer Chongli is a cool summer retreat, then late autumn Chongli is an oil painting worth savoring, with every brushstroke of color unforgettable.
