Introducing Xinxiang Museum

Located in the heart of Xinxiang's Renmin East Road district, the Pingyuan Museum boasts one of the largest collections and is a nationally recognized key museum. Its predecessor, the Pingyuan Provincial Museum, was established in 1949. Pingyuan Museum is a comprehensive building integrating a museum, archives, and urban construction archives. Construction began in 2007 with a total investment of approximately 300 million yuan, and the three-story building, encompassing the museum, archives, history, and urban construction archives, was completed in 2011. The planned land area is 7.5 hectares, with a total construction area of ​​52,585 square meters. The ground floor houses storage, technical rooms, and electrical equipment. The second and third floors are dedicated to exhibition space and offices, housing 19 exhibition halls for cultural relics and six for archives.

Xinxiang Museum, founded in August 1958, formerly the Pingyuan Provincial Museum, houses a collection of 24,369 items, including 9,439 stone tablets and calligraphy, and over 1,700 paintings and calligraphy works from various dynasties. The collection spans from the Qin and Han dynasties to the modern era, with representative works by Zhao Mengfu, Dong Qichang, Shi Chunhui, Li Kuchan, and Bai Xueshi. The museum also hosts exhibitions of calligraphy and painting by renowned local artists from the Ming and Qing dynasties, fan paintings and calligraphy from the museum's collection, and Fu Leshan's paintings and calligraphy.
