"Naozhou Island" Zhanjiang volcanic rock island "Naozhou Island" Zhanjiang volcanic rock island
An island town surrounded by the sea and supporting 70,000 people. It is hard to imagine that in the first year of Xiangxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1278), the last emperor Zhao Bing brought tens of thousands of his subjects to this island formed by the eruption of an underwater volcano in order to escape the pursuit of Yuan soldiers. Only the little emperor had a horse, while the rest of the palace ladies, generals and soldiers had to walk. It takes a long time to drive to Songhuang Village after reaching the island. In that era, you had to travel through mountains and rivers and hide from pursuers. Those who finally managed to settle here alive were already winners.
💕What is impressive is that this largest natural crystal lighthouse during the colonial period, a century later, is still working diligently. In its rotating halo, you seem to be able to see the era of smoke and black ships sailing. Each scene tells people that they should not forget the spirit and energy that has never disappeared from the Southern Song Dynasty to today.
📍Tianchengtai Tourism Resort, Wushi Town, Leizhou City, Zhanjiang: ¥10/person
Open for swimming all day
🌟Warm Tips:
1. When there are not many people, you can drive your car under the lighthouse and feel the feeling of being surrounded by the sea, but be aware that it is dangerous to drive a car during high tide. 2. There are many local fishermen who catch fresh seafood at reasonable prices. You can buy them directly and have them processed in the store next door.
3. Recommended to try: Fresh coconut on the beach for ¥10 each, really big and very satisfying with the water, and you can also help dig out the coconut meat to eat.
