Zhengzhou Travel Guide: Experience a Different Zhengzhou

Zhengzhou, anciently known as "Shangdu" and now called "Green City," is the capital of Henan Province. It is one of the eight ancient capitals of China and boasts two World Cultural Heritage sites, including the Dengfeng "Center of Heaven and Earth" historical architectural complex.

Henan Museum: The museum has a rich collection, including nine "Treasures of the Museum," such as the Jiahu bone flute and the Duling square cauldron. Tickets can be booked five days in advance through the Henan Museum ticketing system.

Erqi Memorial Tower: Located in the center of Erqi Square, the tower was built to commemorate the Jinghan Railway workers' strike on February 7, 1923. It is open from 9:00 to 17:00, Tuesday to Sunday, with last entry at 16:30.

Zhengzhou Memory · Youhua Factory Creative Park: Transformed from the old oil and chemical factory, this park is home to many art shops with diverse decoration styles. It's a great place to take artistic and retro photos and is known as the "798 of Zhengzhou."

Ersha Cultural and Creative Park: Formerly the largest grinding wheel factory in China and Asia, it has been converted into a cultural and creative park. With Asia's largest Bauhaus building complex, it's a popular spot for industrial-style photography.

Financial Island: With its "Little Kamakura of Zhengzhou" and "coastal road," it feels like stepping into a Japanese drama. Popular spots include Wild Dog Cafe and Nine9 Record Store.

Corn Building: This unique building is a landmark of Zhengzhou. It's especially photogenic at night when lit up.

Huimian (Braised Noodles): Heji's Huimian is known for its rich and fragrant soup and chewy noodles, making it one of Zhengzhou's specialties.

Hulatang (Spicy Soup): Fang Zhongshan Hulatang offers a spicy and satisfying soup, a local breakfast favorite. It's even better when paired with youtiao (fried dough sticks) or baozi (steamed buns).

Menbing (Braised Pancakes): Geji Menbing, dating back to the Qing Dynasty, serves this intangible cultural heritage dish. The fragrant Menbing is definitely worth trying.

Bianjing Roast Duck: Cheng Shifu · Dasong Chaocailou's roast duck is one of the ten classic Henan dishes and enjoys widespread fame.

Baiquan Mutton: This century-old restaurant is renowned for its flavorful mutton dishes.
