Zhengzhou Travel Guide: Experience a Different Zhengzhou

1️⃣ Zhengzhou is the capital of Henan Province and one of the birthplaces of Central Plains culture.
Must-visit attractions include the Erqi Memorial Tower, Yellow River Scenic Area, and Shaolin Temple.
Local specialties include Zhengzhou Hui noodles, spicy soup, and Daokou roast chicken. The long-established "Heji Hui Noodles" is worth trying.
Accommodation is recommended around Erqi Square or Zhengdong New District for convenient transportation. Zhengzhou has distinct four seasons, with spring and autumn being the best travel seasons. You can experience traditional culture such as Yu opera and Shaolin kung fu. A 3-4 day itinerary is suggested, combined with nearby cities like Kaifeng and Luoyang for a better experience. The subway covers major attractions, making travel convenient.
Note the high temperatures in summer and frequent smog in winter.
2️⃣ Qingyang, Gansu, located on the Loess Plateau in eastern Gansu, is known as the "Granary of Eastern Gansu." It has a long history and is the birthplace of the Zhou ancestors.
Main attractions include Beishiku Temple, Nanzuo Ruins, and Zhou Ancestor Forest Park, where you can feel the profound cultural heritage.
Local specialties include Qingyang Helou noodles, lamb stew with bread, and Huancounty lamb, with noodles being especially famous.
Accommodation is recommended in Xifeng District, with a wide range of options from budget to four-star hotels.
The best travel season is from May to October, with pleasant climate.
Transportation is convenient, with flights to Qingyang Airport or about 2 hours by high-speed train from Xi’an.
3️⃣ Xiaogan, Hubei, is a city with a long history, famous for filial piety culture. The local people are simple and hospitable.
Must-visit attractions include Dongyong Park, said to be the hometown of the filial son Dong Yong; Shuangfeng Mountain Scenic Area, suitable for hiking and sightseeing; and Tangchi Hot Springs, a great place to relax.
In terms of food, Xiaogan rice wine is sweet and delicious, sesame candy is crispy and not greasy, and authentic three-flavor bean curd skin and fish noodles are also local specialties.
Accommodation options are abundant, ranging from budget hotels to hot spring resorts.
A 2-3 day itinerary is recommended, with spring and autumn being the best seasons.
Transportation is convenient, with only a 30-minute high-speed train ride from Wuhan. Remember to try the local specialty breakfast, hot soup noodles, and experience the slow-paced city life.
It is recommended to spend 2-3 days to experience the unique landscape of the Loess Plateau and farming culture.
