The Dahe Village Ruins Museum is a sunken museum. Before entering, you have to walk down a long slope, so be especially careful on rainy days.
I was lucky enough to arrive the day after my scheduled visit, as the museum was scheduled to close for an extended period. Officials announced that they were planning to expand. It's already large, and yet they're still expanding! 😆
The Dahe Village Ruins date back to the Yangshao culture, and a wealth of pottery has been unearthed. The museum has many highlights, the first being the water curtain before entering.
The museum provides detailed explanations of semi-cave dwellings and tribal culture within the Yangshao culture, and there are also interactive animations showcasing Yangshao tribal cultures.
There's a rock layer distribution chart, which provides the most complete overview of the Dahe Village Ruins over the entire time period, making it ideal for studying cultural changes. I really like the double-jointed pottery pot inside, which symbolizes the establishment of diplomatic relations and friendship between the two tribes.
It's truly a beautiful museum!
