Xijindu, also known as Xijindu Historical and Cultural District, is located in the northwest of Zhenjiang City, a 15-minute walk east of Jinshan Park. There is an old house with a strong historical atmosphere, and the famous Xijindu Ancient Street is located here. Xijindu has been the ferry terminal since the Three Kingdoms period. Later, due to the gradual shift of the river bank to the north, the ferry has long been gone, leaving only the ancient street of Xijindu on the mountainside of Yuntai Mountain. From the east, you can climb dozens of steps to Xijindu Ancient Street on the mountainside. The more you go to the west, the lower the terrain. The ancient street is covered with old blue stone slabs, with traditional houses and gables made of green bricks on both sides, which shows the vicissitudes of life. In the eastern section of the ancient street, there is a "Zhaoguan Stone Tower" built from the Yuan Dynasty, which is the only remaining cross-street stone tower in China. Visitors can pass under the tower. Next to the stone pagoda is the Guanyin Cave built in the Song Dynasty, which is a place to pray for blessings and safety. On the opposite is the life-saving meeting, which is a water safety rescue agency built in the Qing Dynasty. Both scenic spots are charged. If you continue to the west, there are small mountain buildings, waiting pavilions and other small scenic spots. Xiaoshan Tower is a small wooden building built in the Tang Dynasty. There is a plaque under the eaves of Mr. Yu Qiuyu's inscription "Jinlingdu". In front of the building, you can overlook the layers of green tiles of the old house in the block. The waiting pavilion used to be a place for the ancients to wait for boats or take a nap After waiting for the waiting pavilion, you can see all kinds of shops on both sides, including teahouses, handicraft shops, and noodle shops. There are all kinds of interesting shop tricks, which are quite petty. If you are greedy, you can try Zhuangyuan cake, stinky tofu and other snacks. The ancient street is not long, and it takes about half an hour to reach the end. If you are still not satisfied, you can return to the waiting pavilion on the original road. From here, you can go downhill to the old wharf cultural block. There are many retro old site buildings such as Texiguyangxing, where you can take photos. You can also climb the Yuntai Pavilion on the top of the mountain behind the ancient street to overlook the city, especially the old block at night.
