Zhongshan Shiqi Lao real food review

They say that if you don't try Shiqi Lao in Zhongshan, it's as if you haven't been!

This time, I made a special trip to the restaurant to try it out!

1. Braised Squab

As a Zhongshan specialty, the pigeon is a must-try. The braised pigeon here is bright red, the broth is hot, and the aroma is overwhelming. However, in reality, the pigeons are a bit small and the meat is a bit thin, which seems to be overstating the experience.

2. Stir-fried Crispy Grass Carp with Ginger and Scallions

The fish was fresh and crispy, but lacked the wok flavor, making the flavor less prominent. Aside from the pigeon, the other dishes arrived a bit cool, which was a pity; you'll have to wait a bit longer to enjoy them piping hot.

There are quite a few other service charges. Tea is ¥4 per person, with an additional 10% on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. You can make your own judgment.
