Visiting Zhujiajian, Zhoushan for National Day, I stayed at the popular MirrorPoolIsle Seaside Designer Boutique Hotel (Zhangzhou Village Branch) online. Having just experienced it myself and explored the surrounding area, I want to share some honest tips in plain language to help those planning to avoid peak crowds steer clear of pitfalls.

First, the good points: the location is indeed convenient. Just a few minutes’ walk from the door is a free beach, no need to drive around, which is especially great for kids digging in the sand nearby. Open your room window and you can see the sea; waking up to the sound of waves in the morning and watching the sunset at the guesthouse entrance in the evening is truly relaxing. The owner is also very helpful, telling you which roads nearby are not congested, which seafood stalls won’t overcharge, and even lending sand digging tools for free, which is quite reassuring.

The owner is very enthusiastic. Knowing I was here for local sightseeing, he proactively drew me a less touristy route, suggesting that if you want to avoid popular spots, it’s more cost-effective to eat seafood at nearby fishing villages. He also recommended several local favorite restaurants, and after trying them, I can say no disappointments—fresh and cheap swimming crabs. Additionally, the guesthouse offers free sand digging tools and board games. In the evening, playing games with other guests in the living room and chatting occasionally creates a lively, homely atmosphere.

Finally, some practical advice for those planning to travel off-peak:
1. Book a high-floor sea view room. On National Day, the lower floors get noisy from the pool during the day, while higher floors offer a wider view and clearer sunsets.

Overall, this guesthouse is suitable for off-peak travel, when you can fully enjoy the sea views and service advantages.
