Located to the north of the Yangkou Scenic Area in Laoshan, the Erlongshan Scenic Area in Laoshan is a comprehensive tourist area integrating tourism, vacation, sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, and shopping. It is a national AAA-level scenic area and can be reached via the Laoshan Tourist Highway and the Qingdao Seaside Scenic Boulevard. The scenic area is surrounded by mountains and waters, with a pleasant climate, beautiful scenery, and complete infrastructure.
The Erlongshan Ecological Tourism Area in Laoshan is located in the heart of Laoshan National Forest Park. The area houses tourist attractions such as Tangziguan Scenic Area, China Tea Culture Museum, Laoshan Tea Museum, Laoshan Taoist Culture Museum and a thousand-acre tea garden.
The main scenic spots include Xiaowangdieku, Tangzi Temple, Ganlu Spring, Xingshi Mountain, Taipingding, Wangwanggou, Xianrenbai, Huanglinghou, Hutou Mountain, Thumb Up, Guangguanggou and other scenic spots.
Qingdao is located in the northern temperate monsoon region and has a temperate monsoon climate with humid air, abundant rainfall, moderate temperature and distinct four seasons.

Erlong Mountain is one of Qingdao's famous natural landmarks. It has historical significance as it houses several ancient temples and cultural relics. The mountain is a popular spot for hiking, sightseeing, and enjoying nature.
Erlong Mountain is located in the western part of Qingdao. It can be accessed by taxi, bus, or metro. From the city center, a short taxi ride or public bus will get you to the foot of the mountain. Walking is an option for those nearby.
The mountain park is open daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The best time to visit is in spring or autumn when the weather is pleasant and the scenery is at its most vibrant.
The entrance fee is moderate and can be paid at the entrance. Tickets are available for purchase onsite, and during peak seasons, tickets can also be booked online in advance.
Booking tickets in advance is not necessary unless visiting during peak holidays. For better planning, tickets can be booked online a few days prior to the visit.
It takes around 2-4 hours to explore the mountain fully, including hiking to the summit and visiting the temples and scenic spots along the way.
Guided tours are available in Mandarin. During peak seasons, some English-speaking guides might be available, and audio guides in multiple languages, including English, are offered.
Start your visit by taking the main trail to the summit for the best views. Along the way, stop at the Erlong Temple and explore the natural beauty of the surrounding forest. If time allows, visit one of the quiet picnic spots near the base.
Currently, night visits and light shows are not available. However, special tours may be organized during certain festivals, and it's advisable to check the park's official site for any updates.
The mountain is busiest during weekends and holidays. To avoid crowds, it’s best to visit early in the morning on weekdays or during the off-season in spring or autumn.
There are toilets and rest areas along the hiking trails. Some food stalls provide snacks and drinks, but it's recommended to bring your own water. There are small shops at the base for souvenirs and refreshments.
The main trails are relatively accessible, but some parts of the mountain may be difficult for elderly visitors or those with mobility issues due to the uneven terrain. There are rest areas along the routes for relaxation.
Both cash and mobile payments (e.g., WeChat Pay, Alipay) are accepted at the entrance and in most shops within the park. Credit cards may be accepted at larger shops.
There are a few local restaurants and cafes near the base of the mountain, offering traditional Chinese food and snacks. Options are more limited at the summit, where you can find basic refreshments.
Vegetarian and vegan options are available at the nearby restaurants. Some eateries may offer halal options, but it is best to check with the staff beforehand.
There are several hotels and guesthouses in Qingdao city center that offer easy access to Erlong Mountain. For a more scenic stay, look for hotels near the coastline or within walking distance of the park.
Souvenir shops near the entrance and base of the mountain sell traditional Qingdao crafts, local teas, and mountain-themed memorabilia, such as postcards and small statues.
