Just got back from Zhoushan! This Qingchen sea view homestay hidden in Zhangzhou Bay wakes me up every day with the sound of waves and lets me fall asleep under the starlight, with every breath wrapped in the scent of sea salt~
🏝️The joy of sea viewing in the homestay
Opening the door, the blue sea hits your eyes! Floor-to-ceiling glass windows frame the sea view of Zhangzhou Bay like a painting. Sitting on the living room sofa, you can watch fishing boats 🚤 pass by. The rooftop terrace is a treasure—watch the sunrise paint the sea pink in the morning, enjoy an iced drink in the sea breeze at dusk, listen to the waves and slowly unwind, so comfortable you don’t want to move.
🛟Must-try sea viewing routes nearby
• Zhangzhou Bay tide hunting: A 5-minute walk to the tidal flats. At low tide, follow the tide table provided by the homestay to dig for clams and catch small crabs. It’s super fun for kids, and the tidal flat silhouettes at sunset are stunning.
• Island sea tour: A 10-minute drive to Nansha Beach, where walking on the sand and wading in the waves is very healing; then a 15-minute drive to Dongsha, less crowded and beautiful, perfect for shooting unobstructed blue sea photos.
• Fishing village stroll: Explore Zhangzhou Bay fishing village, watch fishermen dry nets and repair boats, buy freshly landed seafood and have the homestay cook it for you. The steamed swimming crab is so fresh it’ll make you stomp your feet.
💡 Tips to avoid pitfalls for tourists
• Book 2 weeks in advance during peak season! The prime sea view rooms are very popular; if you’re late, you’ll have to settle for side sea views. Book even earlier for weekends.
• Must bring sunscreen + a light jacket! The UV rays by the sea are strong, and it gets a bit chilly with the wind in the evening. Wearing light-colored clothes makes your sea photos pop.
• Don’t wander aimlessly for seafood! Let the homestay host help you order; it’s less risky than the market and the cooking fees are reasonable.
At Qingchen, every day is “sea viewing + tide hunting + fresh eating.” All the romance of Zhujiajian is here. I’ll come again next time!
