Dongji Island is beautiful, but I won’t go again because…

Who knows! Dongji Island is breathtakingly beautiful, yet it made me swear never to return…😭

Family! Just got back from Dongji Island, and I still get butterflies looking at the photos, but if you ask me to go through the whole process again? No way, no way! 🙅‍♀️

Let me talk about the transportation first, it’s a real test of endurance! After flying or taking the train to Ningbo, you have to transfer to an airport shuttle or bus to Zhoushan Putuo Passenger Center, then take a taxi to Zhujiajian Wugongzhi Pier, all the way making you question life! 🚗

Getting to the island is even trickier! The ferry only goes to Miaozihu, a 2-hour trip that can make you seasick, so seasickness medicine is a must! 😵‍💫 To get to Dongfushan or Qingbang Island, you have to transfer boats at Miaozihu, which is really exhausting!

But if you pick the right accommodation, it’s super healing! I booked a homestay near the Sunrise Platform in advance, and when I opened the curtains in the sea view room, the blue ocean just hit me right in the eyes! 🌊 You can watch the sunrise in the morning when you step outside, and sit at the door waiting for the sunset in the evening, pure happiness~

Miaozihu is the filming location of "The Continent," commercially developed, strolling on the original stone beach and seeing the statue of Caibogong is super atmospheric~ 📸
Dongfushan is truly amazing! As the easternmost point of Dongji, it’s perfect for photos, never crowded even on holidays, and the sea breeze while circling the island slows you down! At 11 PM, go see the glowing sea, and if you’re lucky, you’ll catch the blue romance~ ✨
Qingbang Island’s “Potala Palace on the Sea” is stunning, a pristine little island perfect for zoning out alone, daydreaming at Child’s Cave, and walking on the pebble beach at West Wind Bay, so relaxing!

The food is all seafood barbecue, about 80 yuan per person, eating outdoors with the sea breeze, finger-licking good! 🦞

Finally, key points! Book ferry tickets 3 days in advance, follow “Zhoushan Haixing Ferry” or “Dongji Shipping,” tickets go on sale at 5 AM sharp, if you’re slow, you’ll miss out! ⏰ Apply sunscreen thickly, bring a hat, arm sleeves, and sunglasses, island UV rays are super strong! Don’t forget mosquito spray, the reef area is full of fierce mosquitoes at dusk! Wear non-slip sports shoes, the island roads have many steep slopes and loose stones, you’ll regret wearing flip-flops!
