Don't wait until next year! Grab the tail end of the Chinese-style Halloween at Taihu Performing Arts City

Who would have thought! I almost missed the national style Halloween carnival at Taihu Performing Arts City, but luckily caught the tail end, and the atmosphere was absolutely thrilling 🤯

As soon as I entered the ancient town, I was captivated! The main street was hung with strings of pumpkin lanterns 🎃, giant ghost balloons 👻 floated overhead, and turning a corner I found myself surrounded by over 400 NPCs—Nie Xiaoqian in Hanfu, the King of Hell waving a folding fan, and even little ghosts coming over to hand out candy 🍬.

Highlights of the interactive details ✨

• Played rock-paper-scissors with them and won 20 silver tickets, the joy of exchanging them for a small fragrant sachet was so real 😆.

• Met a particularly funny "Black and White Impermanence" ⚰️ who actively posed with scissors hands for photos and quietly warned me, "Don’t drink the Meng Po soup ahead, it’s a bit sour," the cute contrast really hit the funny bone 😂.

• A "zombie" NPC 🧟‍♂️ was especially dedicated, hopping all the way. My friend tried to hop like him, and he even stopped and tilted his head to look—couldn’t stop laughing at that moment 🤣!

• There was also a "female ghost" in a qipao 👻 who, seeing me taking photos, cooperated by posing nicely and after the shot said, "Young lady, you look beautiful," in a soft voice that was not scary at all, but very gentle ✨.

For the brave, rush to Peach Blossom Island’s immersive scene! The ghost bride’s flower sedan chair just floated by in the "Underworld Wedding," and the "Yin Soldiers Borrowing the Road" procession came out of the mist 💀. I drank the Meng Po soup and watched the zombie mahjong game. Although the NPCs staring made my palms sweat 😱, I turned around and laughed until I crouched down—who doesn’t have that mix of fear and fun!

The real highlight is at night! At 7:30 PM, the intangible cultural heritage iron flower show starts on time, with molten iron at a thousand degrees exploding into sparks falling onto the lake. Nearby kids exclaimed, "Firework rain," such a healing sound 🎇. At 8:40 PM, the water dance show with fireworks on the water, wrapped in the evening breeze and the scent of fireworks. If you catch it on a Saturday, the moment the high-altitude fireworks light up the night sky is simply legendary 🌌.

The key is 60 yuan for 3 days of fun! Visit the animal world during the day to feed giraffes 🦒, rush to the ice and snow town in the afternoon to slide, and party at the performing arts city at night 🎉. Staying at Yashi Hotel is just a 10-minute walk away, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of Taihu’s morning mist. The cost performance is truly unbeatable 👍.

The event ends in just a few days, and there aren’t many people now, so hurry and bring your friends and family! Missing it means waiting a whole year 😭
