Liuzu Zen Temple

Liuzu Zen Temple is located in Mafang Village, Qingliang Temple Office, Zhuozhou City, Baoding City, Hebei Province, less than three kilometers from Huigu Li. It is a modern building constructed by the Zhuozhou City Government in 2010 to commemorate Master Huineng, the Sixth Patriarch. The temple is built on the basis of the original Xinglong Temple (a subordinate temple of Yunju Temple in Fangshan, originally built in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty), and has become another important cultural landmark in Zhuozhou City. It mainly consists of the Mountain Gate, Bell and Drum Tower, Hall of Heavenly Kings, Guanyin Hall, Mahavira Hall, and Sixth Patriarch Hall, among which the Guanyin Hall is in the Qing Dynasty style, and the Sixth Patriarch Hall enshrines a statue of Master Huineng, the Sixth Patriarch.
