Culture, Views, and Lakeside Magic: 24 hours in Zurich 🇨🇭

If you’re short on time, Zurich is the perfect city to hit on foot, packed with historical gems, panoramic vantage points, and that unbeatable lakeside vibe. Here are my recommendations for one day in Zurich:

1️⃣ Grossmünster – Start at this iconic twin-towered church. Climb up the tower for a classic Insta-worthy city shot, especially in morning light. Don’t skip the stunning stained glass windows inside!

2️⃣ Lindenhof & Polyterrasse – Step into the Lindenhof ramparts, a serene park offering dreamy views over old town rooftops. Grab a quick coffee to go, then walk up to Polyterrasse. It’s a campus terrace famed for sunset skyline panoramas, and less crowded than most tourist spots.

3️⃣ Lake Zurich Boat Ride – Head to the Burkliplatz pier for a short boat cruise. Glide over turquoise waters, snap the snowy Alps on the horizon, and soak up that fresh Swiss air. Sunsets are magical so try to catch the last one.

4️⃣ Zurich Main Train Station – End at the grand Zürich Hauptbahnhof - one of Europe’s busiest train stations. Inside, arty installations and murals make surprising photo backdrops. It’s also ideal for a quick bite (try a local pretzel!) and perfectly located for onward travel.

🏨 Where to Stay: Saint Georges Hotel is conveniently located near the Old Town. Rooms are spacious and staff are friendly. It’s quite affordable for Zurich.

🍗 Where to Eat:
🍟 Der Wilde Kaiser Wienzeile
☕️ Schokolade & Espresso Bar
🥪 Piadina Bar
