Werdmühleplatz may be modest in size, but it’s full of Zürich character. Tucked just off Bahnhofstrasse, this open square blends local life, culture, and a touch of everyday charm.
It’s surrounded by cafés, small shops, and city architecture, and throughout the year it hosts different events — most famously the Singing Christmas Tree at Christmas time, when choirs perform from a tiered stage shaped like a giant tree. The rest of the year, it’s a peaceful place to sit with a coffee, watch trams go by, and take a short break from the bustle of the shopping street nearby.
Perfectly central yet never too crowded, Werdmühleplatz is one of those local spots that adds warmth and rhythm to everyday Zürich life.
