On the morning of May 18, 2021, I had a buffet breakfast at the hotel, took bus No. 601 to Emei Mountain Scenic Area at 7:45, and arrived at the terminal Emei Mountain Passenger Station at 8:50. There were two old couples in the car who were also going to Mount Emei with their luggage, and they told the driver to get off at the Emei Mountain high-speed rail station in order to store the luggage at the high-speed rail station, and then go to Mount Emei to save the burden forward. I told them that there was no need to get off the bus at all, and the scenic spot would store their luggage for free, and they accepted my suggestion and went directly to the scenic spot.
There are several uphill bus points in the Emei Mountain Scenic Area, and we arrived at the bus point of Emei Mountain Passenger Station. We came to Mount Emei once 20 years ago, when there was only one bus point up the mountain, and now we don't know which place, we only know that we can walk to Qingyin Pavilion and Wannian Temple. After getting off at the terminal, we thought that we would walk up the road to the gate of the scenic spot to take a car up the mountain, but after walking around, we couldn't see the boarding point, and there was no sign.
Return to the passenger station, take the transportation bus, the fare is 90 yuan per person round trip, booked online, tickets are free for those over 60 years old, and you can also make an appointment online and swipe your ID card on the bus. At 11:15, we arrived at the terminal of the traffic bus in Leidongping, the weather was not bad at the foot of the mountain, and it was already foggy at Leidongping, and the temperature had dropped significantly. Not far up the mountain, we arrived at the ropeway station, the ropeway uplink cost 65 yuan, we bought a one-way trip, ready to walk down the mountain. On the ropeway, I also hope to reach the top of the mountain, the clouds will clear and the sun will rise, maybe you can see the sea of clouds, wait for the ropeway, everything will come to naught, the fog on the top of the mountain is thicker, more than ten meters away, you can no longer see the building, a few steps away, you can no longer see the face.
Originally, the focus of this visit to Mount Emei was the golden temple on the mountain, and the newly built joint building, overlooking the mountains and the earth, only good weather can have good scenery. We have been lucky many times when we go to scenic spots, and the weather is beautiful, but this time it is very different, no wonder the character is lacking.
The Golden Peak of Mount Emei, also known as Huazang Temple, is located on the main peak of Mount Emei in Sichuan Province, China, at an altitude of 3,077 meters, which is the end of the mountain tour in Emei and one of the key monasteries of Buddhism in the Han region.
The golden dome of Mount Emei was built in the Tang Dynasty, and the roof was covered with tin tiles, and it was also called the "silver roof" in the Yuan Dynasty. There is a Woyun Monastery on the side of the temple, with a canteen and guest rooms for tourists to eat and stay. At the Golden Peak, you can see the four wonders of Emei - sunrise, sea of clouds, Buddha's light, and sacred lamp. Although the Golden Peak is adjacent to the Thousand Buddha Peak and the Ten Thousand Buddha Peak, tourists flock there even more.
The Golden Dome is the place with the highest concentration of temples and attractions in Mount Emei, with a height of 26 meters and a total area of 1,614 square meters, a golden dome and a copper hall, as well as the first mountain pavilion "Copper Pavilion", which is the essence of Emei. In 1983, it was listed as a national key monastery of Buddhism in the Han region.
Another highlight of the Golden Dome is the Golden Statue of the Ten Directions of Puxian, which was completed on June 18, 2006, with a height of 48 meters, a weight of more than 600 tons, and a construction area of 1,000 square meters, which is currently the largest and tallest statue of the Ten Directions Puxian in the world. The construction area of the Golden Hall and the Copper Hall is 1,800 square meters. The Golden Hall has a copper-faced gilt roof, which is currently the largest golden hall in China. The worship avenue, 18 meters wide, 108 meters long, 10 levels, is guarded by 10 pairs of elephants, which not only reflects the spirit and characteristics of the practice of universal sages, but also contains the direction and way to guide all living beings to worship the Buddha. The 48-meter-high Golden Buddha Pass represents Amitabha's 48 wishes. The "Ten Directions" symbolizes the ten major vows of the universal sages, and the other symbolizes the ten directions of east, south, west, north, southeast, southwest, northeast, northwest, upper and lower directions in Buddhism, which means that the boundless vows of the universal sages can fulfill the Buddhas and sentient beings of the ten directions. The ten heads of Puxian are divided into three layers, with different demeanors, representing the ten mentalities of the world.
This golden statue of the Ten Directions of Puxian is a building that we did not have last time to the Golden Peak, and viewing this building should be one of the purposes of our trip, but the sky is not beautiful, sometimes thickly covered, sometimes lightly wiped, so that we are vaguely indistinguishable from the true appearance. I had no choice but to enter the room, and the various halls were also shaking, rubbing shoulders and heels, and did not stop. The observation deck outside the hall overlooks the vast white sky, and nothing can be seen. Seeing that the weather would not improve, I had to withdraw.
At about 12:30 noon, we were about to take the trail down the mountain, and it started to rain lightly, so we decided to take the ropeway down the mountain. When I arrived at Leidongping, I didn't stop, and continued to take the car down, initially planning to get off at Wuxiangang, and then go to Wannian Temple, Qingyin Pavilion, and Baoguo Temple. After going down the mountain, I realized that this Emei Mountain was particularly weird, the thick fog on the mountain locked the city, the rain was rippling, and there was no rain at the foot of the mountain, but it was already 4 o'clock in the afternoon, I was afraid that I would miss the last bus when I went back, so I had to go back directly to the Emei Mountain Passenger Station and take 601 back to the hotel. End the day of unsatisfactory travel. It was also the most expensive and disappointing experience this time. Goodbye, Mount Emei, there will be no next time.
