Emei Mountain is located in the southwest of the Sichuan Basin and is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in our country, with the main peak of Jinding at an altitude of 3079 meters. The highest peak, Ten Thousand Buddha Peak, is 3,099 meters above sea level.

Mount Emei is a national 5A-level tourist attraction, rich in natural heritage, known as "plant kingdom", "animal paradise", is the dojo of Puxian Bodhisattva, and is known as "Buddhist paradise". In 1996, Mount Emei was included in the "World Cultural and Natural Heritage List".

Itinerary:

1 day: Take the scenic sightseeing bus to Leidongping at Emeishan Station, hike to the Jiyin Hall, take the ropeway to the Golden Peak, and return the same way.

Day 2: Take the scenic sightseeing bus to Wuxiangang at Emeishan Station, hike to Xixiangchi/Leidongping for accommodation, hike to Jinding the next day, and take a car down the mountain at Leidongping on the way back.

3-4 days: On the first day, stay around the visitor center, hike/take the bus to visit Baoguo Temple and Fuhu Temple, hike to Xixiang Pond on the second day to stay, hike to the Golden Dome camping on the third day, enjoy the sea of clouds, sunrise, Buddha's light on the fourth day, and hike/take a car down the mountain.

The three itineraries are for reference only, according to personal time and physical strength, there is no problem for friends who often play outdoors to hike to the Golden Peak in one day, but the editor does not recommend, do not deliberately pursue speed, time, slow down, and feel the scenery on the road.

Catering & Accommodation:

Outside the scenic spot: The price of hotels and inns around the visitor center is between 60-400 yuan, and there is a food court next to it, and the price is moderate.

In the scenic area: the price of food is high, such as pulsation, Red Bull 10-18 yuan/bottle, instant noodles 10-15 yuan, stir-fry starts at 20 yuan, and temple vegetarian meals 20-30 yuan. Each monastery has free boiling water, and you can bring your own water cup, instant noodles, and self-heated rice. There are many places to stay, from the bottom to the top, Qingyin Pavilion, Hongchun Ping, Xianfeng Temple, Xixiang Pond, Zero Kilometer, Leidong Ping, the price is between 100-300 yuan. The cost of accommodation in the golden dome is high, ranging from 500-800 yuan. Accommodation prices will increase a lot compared to usual during holidays, so it is recommended to book your accommodation online in advance.

Tips：

1. Regarding the rocks of Mount Rigi, Mount Emei and Mount Rigi in Switzerland became sister mountains in 2009, and in order to strengthen tourism and cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two places, the two mountains exchanged rocks. In 2018, Xiaobian saw the rocks of Mount Emei on the top of Mount Rigi, and after three years, he saw the rocks of Mount Rigi on the golden peak of Mount Emei.

2. Regarding the weather, Mount Emei has a lot of rainfall, it is recommended to bring a raincoat, and an umbrella is not recommended, one is inconvenient for mountain climbing, and the other is that the wind and rain on the mountain are heavy, and the umbrella has little effect. There are also disposable raincoats for sale on the mountain, 6-12 yuan. The temperature of the golden dome is low in the morning and evening, you need to bring a down jacket and warm clothes in winter, and a jacket or jacket in summer.

3. Regarding Tibetan macaques, there are three ecological monkey areas in the scenic area: Yixiantian - Hongchun Ping, Xixiang Pool, and Leidongping - Jieyin Hall. When encountering monkeys, keep a certain safe distance, put your mobile phone, camera and other valuables well, do not carry plastic bags in your hands, the monkeys will come directly to grab it, put all food in your backpack, and do not leave your bag when resting. Before climbing, you can buy a bamboo pole (1-2 yuan) as a trekking pole, which can drive away monkeys, and the bamboo pole will be recycled before getting on the car on the way back.

4. Regarding the parking fee for self-driving,

during the day (8:00-20:00): 10-15 yuan/vehicle, at night (20:00-8:00 the next day): 20 yuan/vehicle.

5. Regarding the sliding rod (sedan chair), according to the distance, about 160-300 yuan, the downlink price is higher than the upward price, and the price can be negotiated.

6. Regarding hiking, try to pack as lightly as possible, Xiaobian reloads because Mount Emei is a temporary arrangement, from Guangdong, Yunnan and Chongqing, it has been on the road for nearly 20 days.

If you have too much luggage, you can leave it at the hotel, visitor center, nearby convenience stores or restaurants, and remember to pick it up after going down the mountain.

Most people start hiking from Qingyin Pavilion/Wuxiangang (arriving by sightseeing bus at the visitor center, 20 yuan, about 12 kilometers hike), go up the mountain along the route, and take a car down the mountain at Leidongping on the way back (if time and weather permit, it is recommended to hike the whole way).

Xiaobian hiked from Wuxiangang (8:40), originally planned to stay in the Xiangxiang Pond that day, but there was no fatigue when he arrived at the Xiangxiang Pool, and continued to climb the mountain after dinner, and arrived at Leidongping at 22:00, which is still 7.5km away from Jinding, and this road takes 2-3 hours.

7. Regarding camping, bring your own equipment, I didn't see any tent rental stalls all the way. If it doesn't rain, you don't need to bring a tent, sleeping bag + moisture-proof mat, the pavilions and temples on the road can be camped, and there are more choices for the golden roof.

8. About equipment, sun hats, magic bandanas, sunscreen, towels, toiletries, gloves, knee pads, quick-drying clothes, pants, non-slip shoes for hiking, headlamps, trekking poles, sleeping bags, moisture-proof mats, mosquito repellent, band-aids, bruise medicine, etc.
