Mount Emei Guide
Homemade map

Transportation

1. Emei Mountain is located in Mingshan South Road, Emeishan City, Leshan City, Sichuan Province.

2. Take a bus to Chengdu from all over the world, and then transfer to the high-speed rail to Emei Mountain Station (high-speed rail) or Emei Station (train). Emei Mountain Station is 2.5 kilometers away from Mount Emei, and Emei Station is located in the city of Leshan, 8 kilometers away from Mount Emei.

2. There is a bus directly to Emei Mountain Passenger Transport Center/Baoguo Temple at Emei Mountain Station (there is also a bus at Emei Station, but you need to transfer), you can use the map to navigate. The passenger transport center is the bus station, but also the starting station of the Emei Mountain sightseeing bus, and the visitor center is the gate of the scenic spot of Mount Emei.

Dressing

In

summer, the weather is hot, you can wear a short T-shirt when climbing the mountain during the day, the temperature on the top of the mountain and at night is low, you need to wear a thick coat, and in other seasons, you can add clothes accordingly, and you can rent a military coat on the top of the mountain.

Accommodation

1. If you arrive at Mount Emei at night, you can stay at Baoguo Temple/Mount Emei Passenger Transport Center, Wuxian Gang, Qingyin Pavilion and other places, and go up the mountain the next morning.

2. If you arrive during the day, you can go directly up the mountain, there are many homestays and temples along Mount Emei for food and lodging, and some temples only accept cash. (The temples are mainly concentrated in Qingyin Pavilion, Huayan Peak, Xixiang Pool, Leidongping, Jieyin Hall, Prince Ping, etc., and the visitor center has a reminder that due to the epidemic, the temples on the mountain are closed, but in fact, most of them are open.)

3. Those who need to spend the night on the top of the mountain generally stay in Leidongping, Jieyindian, Princeping and Jinding.

▲ Official distances and hiking times in the four

places ◆ Leidongping: The final stop of the sightseeing bus, there are restaurants, shops, homestays and temples, and it is the foothold of most tourists. If you stay here, you need to hike to the Jiyin Hall before 5 a.m., and then take the ropeway to the Golden Peak to watch the sunrise, or hike directly up the mountain at 4 a.m., there are no street lights on the mountain, and you need to prepare your own flashlights.

◆ Jieyin Hall: Jieyin Hall is a temple, of course, there are homestays around. There is a ropeway directly to the Golden Peak. The accommodation in the Jieyin Hall is cheaper than Leidongping, and it is close to the Golden Peak, of course, the accommodation conditions may not be as good as Leidongping.

◆ Taiziping: Taiziping also has temples and homestays, the temple is a triple room, and one person will be arranged to stay in one room in the off-season, the price in May is 60 a night, and the homestay is 80 a night in May. Of course, the accommodation conditions of the temple are not as good as the B&B, but electric blankets and hot water will be provided.

◆ Golden Top: The price of the golden top is expensive, but the advantage is that you don't have to get up too early.

4. B&Bs are slightly more expensive, and reservations need to be made in advance on holidays. The temple is cheaper, there are standard rooms and three or four room rooms, the price of different sections is different, and the prices on holidays and non-holidays are also different, you can consult in advance. Along the way, some people will fool you into saying that accommodation elsewhere is expensive or the last bus has ended, don't believe it, go to the field and then decide before deciding.

Emei mountaineering route

The second one: take a sightseeing bus to Wannian Temple, and then hike up the mountain, the route is relatively gentle, It is also the preferred route for most mountain pickers.

Third: Take a sightseeing bus to Wuxiangang, and then hike up the mountain, the route is more difficult to walk and has many steps.

The fourth is more than the third, and it takes about three hours to walk to Qingyin Pavilion.

Green and blue are both walking routes, and the green line is steep, basically an upward staircase.

My mountaineering trip

1. itinerary

Day 2: Take a sightseeing bus to Wuxiangang at 9 a.m., hike up the mountain, arrive at Taiziping at 9 p.m., and stay at Taiziping Temple.

Day 3: Get up at five o'clock in the morning to watch the sunrise, go down the mountain at half past eight, go to the Wuxiangang parking lot at six o'clock in the evening, take a sightseeing bus back to the passenger transport center, pick up your luggage, take a taxi to Emei Station, and then take a train to Chengdu.

Green: The route up the mountain and the time it takes

(The whole process takes 11.5 hours.) It was already half past eight in the evening when I set off from the Jieyin Hall, and there were no street lights on the road, because I was too scared, I climbed almost quickly, so it only took 40 minutes to get to Taiziping, and if I climbed during the day, it might take more than an hour.)

Blue: Descending the mountain (

9.5 hours).

2、 went up the mountain

↓↓↓ I arrived at Mount Emei Station at five o'clock in the afternoon, because I decided to climb Mount Emei temporarily, and I didn't bring trousers, so I went to the city to buy a pair of sweatpants.

The sun went down and it was slightly cold, and I was the only one wearing shorts on the street, which seemed a bit out of place.

▲ Aunties are in squares all over the country

↓↓↓

I

ordered takeout in the evening, 22 pieces of fried rice noodles, the portion is very large.

↓↓↓

I slept until I woke up naturally, and I was going to have a happy breakfast before going up the mountain, but I made a big mistake again.

As

the locals say, non-spicy noodles, as the literal meaning, non-spicy noodles with spicy meat.

I couldn't stand it anymore, so I finally asked the boss to take a bowl and eat it after a glass of water.

↓↓↓

This is the Wuxiangang parking lot

,

which can also be regarded as a signpost in Mount Emei

,

and it provides food and accommodation

↓↓↓

Qingyin Pavilion is 710 meters above sea level

,

also known as Woyun Temple

,

and you will pass through a section of homestay area from here

There are also accommodations and <

↓↓↓

An

unknown small lake near Qingyin Pavilion

The

lake water is clear

The environment is very quiet and elegant

,

and it is also a great pleasure to live here in summer

↓↓↓

On

the way to the first line of heaven

,

there is a stone tablet that

reads: Namo Amitabha

↓↓↓

To

be honest

,

this first-line sky is not as beautiful as Wulong Diji

↓↓↓

The police Shu Shu Shu hint is particularly eye-catching

↓↓↓

After crossing this iron chain, there is a first-line sky ecological monkey area

, and

the monkeys are basically concentrated in this area

I don't know what the monkeys are thinking when they see so many tourists around the railing

There is a tourist who has been luring a monkey with food

The monkeys suddenly rushed out of the fence, startling them

,

the staff approached with a slingshot in their hands

, and the

monkeys retreated one after another

,

perhaps thousands of years ago, the ancients often used slingshots to hit them

,

so that all monkeys were very afraid of slingshots

Want to use food to lure the monkeys to have fun

Once they get close and are afraid

hehe

, if the

scenic spot really doesn't want tourists to feed it

Why not just stop it or warn tourists with obvious words

↓↓↓

From the monkey area to Hongchun Ping, you don't need to go back the same way

,

go straight to the monkey area

,

and follow the mountaineering prompts

↓↓↓

Wanyuan Bridge near the exit of the monkey area

,

commonly known as "Yidao Bridge"

,

spans the black water

In October and September of the Ming Wanli calendar, it was supervised by Zhang Sigong, a native of Ya'an, Sichuan

Province, and

the wooden corridor on the bridge was rebuilt for the early Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty

Instructions for tourists along the way

↓↓↓

The staff of the scenic spot will match a special feeding plan for the monkeys, and tourists are asked not to feed them without authorization.

Do not carry plastic bags or paper bags, monkeys will snatch them when they see them.

The section

above Hongchunping has high mountains and steep slopes, and the elderly, high blood pressure, heart disease, pregnant women and other people should travel with caution

The

scenic spot reminds that it takes about 3.5 hours from Hongchunping to Xianfeng Temple, and it is recommended not to continue after half past five.

↓↓↓

Hongchun Ping is named after the ancient trees of Hongchun

and

is located on the mountainside at an altitude of 1120 meters below Tianchi Peak

There is a Thousand Buddha Zen Monastery in Hongchunping

,

and the most famous scenery is "Hongchun Xiaoyu "

↓↓↓

After passing Hongchun Ping, there are countless stairs

, and the

fallen leaves seem to be a little desolate

↓↓↓

There

is a famous steep slope between Hongchun Ping and Xianfeng Temple - Ninety-nine turns

Ninety-nine turns start from Shouxing Bridge and end at Lingxiaoting

Legend has it that Puxian Bodhisattva came to Mount Emei to build a dojo

and

ordered his servants to command three thousand strongmen to do it at the same time

,

and each person cultivated a level of three thousand stones

,

which was completed in an instant

,

and there were exactly ninety-nine turns

↓↓↓

Stepping on the first step of the ninety-nine turns

is actually not a special feeling

,

I have climbed a lot of such stone steps

Step by step climb up to the

top of the

↓↓↓

Xianfeng Temple is named after Xianfeng Rock

at an

altitude of 1725 meters

It

was under repair at the time, so it was not open

↓↓↓

Falling red is not a ruthless thing, turning into spring mud to protect flowers.

↓↓↓

Stop and enjoy the ultimate view of Mount Emei

↓↓↓

Yuxian Temple was built during the Tongzhi period

,

and it is said that a man went up to Mount Emei to seek immortality

,

and when he met a wood-chopping farmer who said to him, " Leisure and inaction are immortals, why go up Mount E."

When this person heard about it, he was satisfied and went down the mountain

,

and then built a temple here

,

named "Yuxian Temple"

↓↓↓

Between Yuxian Temple and Xixiang Pond, there is a thick fog

in it, and people are walking in

a fairyland

,

↓↓↓

The

Xixiang Pool is 2070 meters above sea level, and the temple was built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty.

Legend has it that Puxian Bodhisattva rode an elephant to climb the mountain and once drew water to wash the elephant in a hexagonal pool in front of the temple, hence the name.

The white

clouds around the Xiangxiang Pond are scattered, the ancient trees are towering and silent, the sky is infinite, and the bright moon is shining, forming the famous scenery here - the night moon of the elephant pool.

↓↓↓

There

is a platform at the back door of the Elephant Washing Pool, which is very suitable for taking pictures of the sea of clouds and the looming hills opposite.

↓↓↓

May

in Mount Emei is the season when rhododendrons bloom

, and I

came across a cluster of rhododendrons arranged in the shape of a heart

Regardless of whether it is intentionally placed in a heart shape or not

,

it does relieve my fatigue from mountaineering

↓↓↓

When you arrive at Leidongping

,

the night is low

and you

can vaguely see the last trace of the sunset

I didn't miss the sunset

↓↓↓

Leidongping also has a platform for "monkey viewing"

This

is a pair of "mother and son?" "Mother and daughter?"

↓↓↓

Accidentally robbed the mineral water by the monkeys, maybe it was too light, they took two sips and poured it. When they left, I dared to pick up the bottle (unfortunately I spent eight yuan, the water I worked so hard to carry...).)

On the way to the Reception Hall, I met a couple who warmly suggested that I stay in the Reception Hall, but I decided to climb to Taiziping anyway.

I asked the staff in the reception hall, he said that according to my speed, you can get to Taiziping in fifty minutes, and the hiking trail is behind the temple, and finally he told me to pay attention to safety, ok, thank you for the kind advice of the well-wishers.

↓↓↓

Night falls

,

the sunset looks particularly dazzling in the darkness

,

and when I first started climbing, I could still see the lights of the Guiding Hall

,

the higher I went, the quieter and darker it became

,

and I could even hear my footsteps clearly

,

and all kinds of strange thoughts kept popping up

↓↓↓

The

Thunder Cave Ping and the Guiding Hall at the foot of the mountain are getting smaller and smaller

,

leaving only two bright lights

,

wandering like a night elf

In fact, climbing the mountain at night is quite fast, the night is dark, the night is as cool as water, you can only concentrate on every step under your feet, without distracting thoughts, and naturally walk like flying.

Everything was silent, it seemed that even the birds and insects were asleep, and I was the only one climbing the mountain on the stone steps in the dead of night, and the sky was full of stars overhead.

At nine o'clock in the evening, I finally saw the lights of Prince Ping.

↓↓↓

The

shopkeeper on the side of the road said that the accommodation was 80 yuan a night

,

I said to go over there and take a look

,

she said that there are two or three hundred a night

,

I said I will take a look first

,

but it turned out that the temple was 60 a night

When I went down the mountain, I took this picture to commemorate the temple where I stayed for one night,

there was an electric blanket in the room

, and I

would be woken up by heat and cold at night

, and at

3:55 a.m.,

the

bell rang outside the window

,

which lasted for five minutes

,

and then there was the sound of knocking wooden fish continuously

, and

after an hour

,

I got up slowly

.

sunrise

↓↓↓

There

are many people watching the sunrise

All the way stop and

stop

half

an hour later to the golden peak

At

this time, the east has been covered with fish belly white

, and

the statue of Puxian Bodhisattva under the blue sky is very solemn and solemn

More and more people gathered around the sun viewing platform to wait for the sunrise

,

and more and more spears and cannons were aimed at the eastern sky

↓↓↓ The sun rises and shines on the statue of the Bodhisattva

↓↓↓

The

golden dome, also known as Huazang Temple

,

is located on the main peak of Mount Emei

at

an altitude of 3077 meters

and

was built in the Tang Dynasty

The roof is covered with tin tiles

In

the Yuan Dynasty, it was also known as the silver roof

↓↓↓

West of Golden Dome Square

The

sea of clouds is visible to the naked eye

The

Gongga Snow Mountain in the distance is crystal clear

↓↓↓

Looking at the Golden Dome Square with people coming and going, I seem to be a little relieved, people will eventually be separated when they meet, they are just passers-by in life, Don't worry too much about not being able to go together, isn't the temple on that mountain standing alone for hundreds of years?

4、 going down the mountain

,

I have to go down the mountain no matter how

much I give up......

I never thought that the night road I took the night before would be so steep, and when I looked back, I thought I would not climb again in the near future anyway.

↓↓↓

Mount Emei seems to be linked with the Bodhisattva of Universal Virtue

So

whether Mount Emei chose the Bodhisattva

or the Bodhisattva chose Mount Emei

↓↓↓

The weather is good today

,

look at the clouds are white

,

the sky is blue

, and the

trees are green

My water glass is yellow

↓↓↓

The

Jieyin Hall is 2540 meters above sea level

and

was built in the Song Dynasty

called the New Hall

Ming Dynasty was expanded into a temple

The

word Jieyin is a Buddhist term

that

means to guide and teach

↓↓↓

Leidongping is located on Lianwang Slope

at

an altitude of 2430 meters

The

ancient name Lei Shrine

is

said to have been built in the Han Dynasty

The area from Leidongping to Jieyindian is the area with the highest concentration of rhododendrons

In the

early morning

,

the sightseeing bus in Leidongping is ready to take

tourists down the mountain

↓↓↓

I

met a group of locals carrying a few iron rods on the way

down the mountain and found a bundle of iron rods on the side of the road

I touched it and found that I couldn't lift

it at all

↓↓↓

The

clouds in the sky are changeable

, or flowing, or clumping

Their plasticity is extraordinary

On the way from Leidongping to Xixiangchi

,

two proprietress mistook me for a boy

,

and one of them asked before I could walk up to him: Do you want to eat?

Me: No, thank

you She: Sorry

Me

: It's okay

It

took a few steps to react She apologized because she thought I was a boy

and a

proprietress misrecognized my gender and said

that it

turned out to be a beautiful woman

hehe

↓↓↓

After

passing Jiulinggang, the whole mountain was suddenly shrouded in fog

And the elephant washing pool is also like adding a layer of filter

It

is difficult to see the true face

↓↓↓

Encountered a small road

and

hesitated again and again

,

but finally decided to take the "big road"

↓↓↓

The

stone steps in the direction of Wannian Temple are very gentle

,

but the endless stairs are also desperate

↓↓↓

Huayan Peak is located at an altitude of 1914 meters above sea

level, located in the middle of Mount Emei

, with

a wide view, you can see the sea of clouds and the sunrise

During the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, it was expanded into a temple on the top of the peak

, and

in the past, the temple enshrined the statue of the Son of Heaven

,

and later enshrined the statue of Shakyamuni and the jade Guanyin

↓↓↓

The

first hall is about 1740 meters above sea level

,

and it is said that it is the residence of the Eastern Han Dynasty dandelion house as a temple

The

founding year is unknown

First Hall

↓↓↓

Monkey Head has a stubborn temperament

and

is lawless in the mountains

I

have indeed experienced it

↓↓↓

Why do fallen leaves look so ...... Romantic

When I met a few people going up the mountain, I mustered up the courage to tell them to come on.

When I met a nun who kowtowed step by step up the mountain, I actually didn't understand this kind of belief, but I also admired them who had faith.

↓↓↓

This is a restaurant run by locals

There

are still vegetables and chickens growing in the backyard

↓↓↓

At

the end, there was no love

in life, and the

moment I saw Wannian Temple, there was a glimmer of hope

Wannian Temple is 1020 meters above sea level

and

is said to be the place where the old man Dandelion worshipped the Buddha in the Han Dynasty

↓↓↓

The

White Dragon Cave is said to be the cave of the White Lady's cultivation

,

and the original upper and lower caves

have

long been buried

The lower cave was filled in as a temple

that is the White Dragon Cave, also known as the White Dragon Temple,

which was founded by the eminent monk Bechuan Zen Master in the thirteenth year of Ming Jiajing

>From Wannian Temple to Qingyin Pavilion, people asked me if I wanted to sit on the slider, and I shook my head desperately, just wanting to measure Mount Emei with my footsteps.

↓↓↓

It

was already six o'clock when I arrived at Wuxian Gang

,

just in time for the last train back to the passenger transport center

,

I went to the hostel to pick up my luggage and went straight to Emei Station

,

but I didn't expect to arrive an hour in advance

,

I ordered a takeaway to eat in the square in front of the train station

,

which was the fullest meal I had in two days

The

train took me to Chengdu

,

but my heart was still on Mount Emei

,

those steep stone steps

, the

sea of clouds flowing like a waterfall

The

fairyland-like blue sky and white clouds

, the

companions who support each other

, the

silent and dark prince flat,

the splendid statue of Puxian Bodhisattva

,

and

the

lawless monkeys

The
flora and fauna of Mount Emei

There are not only monkeys in Mount Emei, but also many unknown animals and plants, and they are all the most living beings in the world.

↓↓↓

The first dog is more camera-like

,

but the second one refuses to look back no matter what you say

,

the monkeys in Mount Emei are very lawless and don't cherish food, and when

I wasn't paying attention, they snatched the mineral water I put on the side of my backpack

,

drank two sips, and fell out because they felt tasteless

, and the

penultimate white butterfly was very good-looking

,

and the last red bug didn't know what kind of creature it was

↓↓↓

The

plants I took randomly searched with a certain treasure's "shape and color recognition flowers"

,

and only the first six plants could be identified

They are yellow quail vegetable, donkey hoof grass, angelica herringbone fruit, duck celery, and local vegetable

After returning from Mount Emei, I found that my physical fitness was beyond imagination, so I set up a flag first, and next time I will start going up the mountain from Baoguo Temple.
