Sichuan Leshan Giant Buddha

When I arrived in Leshan, my stomach was already hungry. The small restaurant on the side of the road has its doors wide open, and you can see the dining table inside at a glance. We parked the car and entered the hotel. The small restaurant is clean and a noodle restaurant. I ate rice noodles all the way, and I saw that the gluttonous insects were hooked out, not to mention pork rib noodles, shredded chicken noodles, fat sausage noodles, braised pork noodles, green vegetable noodles, mushroom noodles, fried sauce noodles, and tomato noodles...... Wow! There are more than a dozen kinds, the expensive one is ten yuan, and the cheap one is five yuan.

We each ordered our favorite flavors, and mine was pork rib noodles. Soon a large bowl of noodles came up, the noodles were very strong, the soup was clear and bright, the ribs were crispy and fragrant, and when I ate it, I felt that the taste of the whole bowl of noodles was very exquisite, and it was by no means made with monosodium glutamate soy sauce, which was really worthy of being the hometown of Sichuan cuisine. I used to think that Sichuan cuisine was just spicy, but this time I found that it was really a partial generalization. A bowl of ordinary noodles can be made so beautiful and exquisite, which shows that Sichuan cuisine lives up to its name.

Leshan also has a famous delicacy - Minjiang river fish. The Minjiang, Qingyi and Dadu rivers outside Leshan City have fine sand and little pollution, and have been famous for their abundance of fresh fish since ancient times, among which Jiangtuan (scientific name long-nosed catfish) can be called the best freshwater river fish. Jiangtuan has no scales, few fine thorns, round body, tender and plump meat, and is most suitable for steaming. Jiang Tuan is often selected as a state banquet dish, and ordinary tourists want to taste the best of this fish, which requires money, the price per catty is hundreds of yuan, and there is also fate, and fishermen are not often able to catch it. Xiba tofu is also a famous food in Leshan, and there are also the famous local "Niuhua Tofu Brain" and "Niuhua Malatang", which are absolutely "spicy".

To Leshan is to see the Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest Buddha in China and even the world.

In the afternoon, we decided to spend a day the next day worshiping the Leshan Giant Buddha and visiting Lingyun Temple, where the Giant Buddha is located.

We crossed the Minjiang Bridge and parked our car in the parking lot of the Big Buddha Scenic Area. The parking lot is right by the Minjiang River, the river breeze is very cool, and there is a walking path by the river, the greenery is very beautiful, and there is a public toilet, so we will camp here tonight.

From the parking lot to Lingyun Temple, where the Big Buddha is located, you have to pass through an antique town. We decided to play in the town in the afternoon.

The town is not big, just over a mile long. At one end of the town is a tall four-pillar and three-door stone archway. The archway is about ten meters high and forty meters wide, not only grand in scale, but also exquisitely carved, extremely luxurious, and looks very magnificent. The four thick stone pillars surrounded by auspicious clouds relied on the four protector kings, each with a strong figure and a serious demeanor, angry eyes wide open, clothes fluttering, silk flying, holding magic weapons, umbrellas, towers, swords, and pestles. This group of sculptures is precisely proportioned, dynamic, vivid and lifelike, and you can tell at a glance that it is from a master. On the stone pillar is a huge door beam, carved with intertwined lotus patterns, and there is a plaque in the middle with four lines of grass written on "Maitreya World". Further up is the edge of the support, above the edge is a lotus seat, in the middle is a solemn statue of Mu Maitreya, the two waiters on the left and right stand solemnly, and behind is a triple eaves stone carved attic, the arhats are lined up, and the heavy eaves are divided into three steps to extend to the left and right ends, like a flying phoenix.

The

other side of the archway is exactly the same as the front, like a replica of the front. This archway can be called the most spectacular and exquisite archway I have seen and heard along the way.

Entering the town, there is a small square at the entrance, and in the center is a Kowloon fountain. The nine dragons in the pool leap with their heads held high, divided into three layers of three parties to form a tower, jumping to the three directions, like the style of ancient bronzes, each dragon spits out clear springs and sprays beads and splashes jade.

On the right side of the fountain, there is a sculptural wall, which is very distinctive. The sculpture wall is a picture overlooking a riverside town, with tiled houses and wooden buildings, lined up, stone streets, from far to near, the mountains in the distance are hazy, and the river is far away, which is very poetic. The wonderful thing is that the author's artistic treatment is very ingenious, the distant view is a painting, the closer you go, the more three-dimensional the carving, from shallow carving, relief to round carving, compressing a vast view on a wall, and combining with the surrounding environment seamlessly. This is the first time I have seen such a unique idea.

In front of the sculpture wall stands a small brick wall, which is inlaid with blue and white porcelain pieces in three large characters "Jiadingfang", and the font is from Su Shi's hand. Leshan, known as Jiazhou in ancient times, was promoted to "Jiading Mansion" in the Southern Song Dynasty, promoted to "Jiading Mansion Road" in the Yuan Dynasty, and restored "Jiading Prefecture" to "Jiading Prefecture" in the Qing Dynasty, and was renamed Leshan since 1913.

Leshan people didn't like the name Jiading, so Shanghainese took it and named a district after Jiading.Over the years, Leshan people have missed the tradition again, but "Jiading" already belongs to others, so they have to build an antique attraction called Jiading next to the Big Buddha, but they have a wish.

The town is antique, with pavilions, wine flags and tea shops, flowing water, and green willows. Bluestone Street, a small river flows along the street, colorful pebbles, aquatic plants flutter, the river is full of flower pots, and there is a small bridge at the door of the shops on the street. This scene has been seen in Hangzhou Ancient Street, Dali Ancient Town, and Lijiang Ancient Town. The difference is that there are residents in those places, although they are old, but they are still full of vitality, and Jiadingfang is full of shops, once tourists do not come, the shops cannot gain a foothold, and the town immediately dies.

When we went, the tea house restaurant was closed, the door was closed, the stage was idle for a long time, on the empty street, the sunset was warm, and the leisure could be volatilized at will, which was very in line with my quiet personality.

At the other end of the town is a city tower, with high walls and streets piercing through holes. Outside, the grass and green trees, the sunset on the outskirts of the city, and the river breeze and distant sails.

The next day, the sun was shining, and we were going to see the Buddha we had admired for a long time.

Lingyun Temple and Big Buddha

Lingyun Mountain is an isolated hill, adjacent to the confluence of the Dadu River, Qingyi River and Minjiang River, and the whole mountain is a temple - Lingyun Temple. The Big Buddha is located on the cliff of Lingyun Mountain, it is a seated Maitreya Buddha, 71 meters high, the largest cliff rock carving in China and even the world, 18 meters higher than the second Bamiyan Buddha in Afghanistan.

From the parking lot to Lingyun Mountain, where the Big Buddha is located, it is only more than a mile away, and it takes less than 20 minutes to walk.

We entered through the north gate, didn't care about other scenery, and went straight to the Big Buddha. All the way to the top of the mountain, and not far to the river to the top of the Big Buddha. Near the edge of the cliff, the head of a big Buddha is displayed in front of you, and although you are mentally prepared in advance, the size of the Buddha is still far beyond imagination. The Buddha's head is 14.7 meters high and 10 meters wide, making it a 5-story building! There are a total of 1,051 spiral buns on the top of the Buddha's head, each as large as a tabletop, the ears are 7 meters long, more than two floors, two people can stand in the ear holes, and looking down, the Buddha's fingers are 8.3 meters long, from the knees to the top of the feet are 28 meters.

The Buddha's eyes opened slightly, calm and relaxed. The neck of the big Buddha is relatively thick, basically equivalent to the head, and the nose is relatively flat, not tall. The place where the Big Buddha is located is all red sandstone, which is very crisp and loose, and the strength cannot bear the protruding parts too much, so it has to be applied according to the material. It is said that the nose was driven into a wooden stake and then beaten with plaster, which caused the current appearance. The craftsmen of thousands of years ago were very wise, if they did not consider the local materials at that time and blindly carved the Leshan Giant Buddha into the Buddha statue of the Longmen Grottoes, they were afraid that they would have collapsed into ruins long ago.

Standing on the edge of the cliff overlooking the river in front of the Big Buddha, the three rivers of Dadu River, Qingyi River and Minjiang River converge, the torrent is turbulent, mighty, the water is long and the sky is high, the sun moves and the clouds float, and the river has flowed in front of the Big Buddha for more than 1,300 years with time.

A cliff plank road and artificial cave are winding and twisting, from the top of the cliff to the bottom. We climbed the ladder down through the hole and saw the Buddha's head all the way to the feet.

On the plank road, you can experience the thrill of the cliffs facing the river, and in the cave, you can enjoy the cliff carvings in the large and small Buddha niches on the cave wall. It's a pity that due to the passage of time, the softness of the sandstone, most of the details of the Buddha statues are gone, and only the general outline remains that they have been eroded by the wind.

Walking to the bottom of the cliff, there is a riverside platform at the foot of the Big Buddha, and you can look up at the Buddha's appearance from another angle. The Big Buddha is simple and simple, strong and stable, mottled with moss, and the rock surface is ancient. He sat upright, his hands on his knees, without saying a word, with a thousand years of vision, quietly staring at the sunrise and moonset, the vicissitudes of the sea, and the rise and fall of all living beings.

We looked up and saw that the Big Buddha was not top-notch. Gently touch the Buddha's toes like five reclining cows, and it is said that the instep of the Buddha's foot is 9 meters wide, and the top of the foot can sit around more than 100 people. Everyone will be shocked by the "big" and can't help but sigh at the greatness of the creator.

The

river is raging under my feet. Just look at it for a while, and you will feel as if you are standing on a giant ship carrying a big Buddha, cutting through the waves and moving forward bravely.

Cruise ships coming from across the river came to the vicinity of the Big Buddha. In order to allow tourists to watch the Buddha, the boat's motor roared, the stern turned over waves of white, resisting the washing of the torrent against the current, and paused for a moment in the water in front of the Buddha, while the tourists on the boat crowded the side of the boat to take pictures and make bursts of praise.

It is said that the Great Buddha is a Maitreya Buddha, according to Buddhist teachings, Maitreya Buddha is the future Buddha of the three Buddhas, he symbolizes the light and happiness of the future world, and will succeed the position of the Buddha 5.67 billion years after the death of Buddha Shakyamuni, spread the Dharma under the Longhua tree in Hualin Garden, and save all sentient beings.

The Leshan Giant Buddha was excavated in the first year of Kaiyuan (713) of the Tang Dynasty and completed in the nineteenth year of Zhenyuan (803).

The three rivers of Leshan, the Min River, the Qingyi River, and the Dadu River converge under Lingyun Mountain, and the water surges, and whenever there is a summer flood, the river rushes straight to the mountain wall, often causing the tragedy of ship destruction and death.

Legend has it that Monk Haitong was a native of Guizhou, and he traveled all over the world and vowed to do good deeds for the people. That summer, he came to Jiazhou, Sichuan, and heard that the river under Lingyun Mountain in the east of Fucheng City was turbulent, and water monsters often appeared, often overturning ships and endangering living beings.

One day, he wanted to check it out for himself, so he came to Lingyun Mountain and met a stonemason named Shi Qing there. Shi Qing's brother was a boatman, unfortunately the boat capsized and died, Shi Qing's mother cried blindly, Shi Qing was determined to chisel all the way into the stone wall, so that the boatmen's bamboo poles could be inserted into the eyes of the pole, and the wooden boat was not touched on the stone wall. Haitong was very moved when he heard this.

Sea Channel: "It is better to chisel a Maitreya Buddha on this mountain rock, use the Buddha's mana to collect monsters and protect the ship." Shi Qing shook his head again and again after hearing this: "We can't complete the eighteen sons of the Big Buddha." Monk Haitong said, "Things are man-made, let's plan well." So, Shi Qing made a stone cave on Lingyun Mountain and let Monk Haitong live in the cave first.

Haitong and Shi Qing inspected the water potential while measuring the terrain, and after a period of time, Haitong said to Shi Qing that although the mountain is high and the Buddha is large, the stone is crispy and pine, and it is easy to excavate; Although the water is fast, although the river is deep, the waste stone of the Buddha is filled in, the river is shallow and the water will be slow, as long as there are funds, this matter is difficult but can be done.

The two separately prepared to build the Big Buddha, and the monk Haitong crossed the mountains and mountains, took a boat out of the Three Gorges, and went to the rich Jianghuai area to raise funds; Shi Qing searched for skilled craftsmen and made tools in Jiazhou urban and rural areas, and after three years of preparation, construction began in the sixth year of Kaiyuan.

The monster at the bottom of the river is a dragon locked to the bottom of the river with an iron chain when Li Bing was repairing the Dujiangyan, because the iron chain rusted over time, the evil dragon broke free from the shackles and fled to the foot of Lingyun Mountain, making waves. When the monsters heard that Haitong and the others were going to build a big Buddha and suppress themselves, they sent floods to wash away workers and tools, rolled huge waves to overturn ships transporting supplies, and intensified to engulf all kinds of ships in the river.

Haitong and the others were not afraid of violence, braved the wind and rain, day and night, and insisted on construction. The matter of Haitong and Shi Qing's repair of the Buddha quickly spread. For a time, on Lingyun Mountain, thousands of people waved their arms, thousands of people shouted, the construction site was in full swing, and the stones hammered from the rocks fell into the river like rain, stirring up countless waves.

The monster jumped like thunder and went crazy, trying to wash away the Buddha with a flood. The construction site of the Big Buddha suddenly had strong winds, flying sand and stones, the sky was dark, and the rain was pouring down. Shi Qing and the stonemasons tied ropes around their waists, risked their lives, and chiseled stones in the air. Winds and floods slapped them against the rocks again and again, and they climbed up again and again with ropes and continued to work. At the moment when the monster launched the shrimp soldier crab to flood Lingyun Mountain, Haitong and the others happened to chisel the Buddha's eye, only to see Shi Qing drop the last hammer, the Buddha's eye was full of golden light, the shrimp soldier crab would melt and burn to ash, and the monster was also seriously injured and fled back to the cave.

With the gradual progress of the project, a large amount of sand and gravel was pushed into the river, the cave entrance of the monster was tightly blocked, and the big Buddha became more and more formed, and the monster no longer dared to commit evil easily.

The monsters gradually subsided, and man-made disasters emerged again.

The newly appointed governor of Jiazhou cherished his wealth as if it were his life. He heard that Monk Haitong had raised a lot of silver, so he took a group of yamen to Lingyun Mountain and said to Haitong menacingly: "Monk Bold, what crime should you commit if you build the Great Buddha privately without the permission of the government?" Come on, lock me away!"

Several yamen officials rushed over to do it, but Shi Qing led the craftsmen to stop him.

The corrupt official said, "Monk, listen, I think you are a monk, so you can avoid the pain of imprisonment." However, if you destroy my Jiazhou feng shui, you have to pay 30,000 taels of silver to compensate.

When Haitong heard that this corrupt official was here to knock on the bamboo stick, a wave of anger suddenly rose in his chest and said: "This silver is the wish of thousands of good men and women, even if you gouge out my eyes, you can't touch this Buddha's money!"

The dog officer thought that Haitong was just saying it, so he said, "Okay, then gouge out your eyes for me to see." Haitong listened, smiled coldly, inserted his fingers firmly into his eyes and picked them hard, two bloody eyes fell into the plate in his hand, Haitong held the plate and said to the corrupt official: "Take it!"When the corrupt officials and those foxes and dogs saw this scene, they were stunned one by one and fled back in despair.

Although Haitong lost both eyes, his will to make Buddha was unwavering, and he often came to the construction site with crutches and was supported by a little novice, accompanying the stonemasons to work. When everyone saw it, they were moved, and with tears in their eyes, they persuaded him to go back and rest, but Haitong insisted on refusing, saying: "Although I can't watch the Big Buddha be built, I have to listen to you build the Big Buddha!"

However, Haitong did not realize his grand wish during his lifetime, and the big Buddha cultivated to his shoulder, and he died of illness due to overwork. Shi Qing also died one after another.

Later, in order to commemorate Haitong, people called the cave where he lived "Haishi Cave". Until now, there is a statue of Haitong sitting cross-legged, with a resolute expression, holding a jade plate with eyeballs in his hand.

After Haitong's death, the project was interrupted for a while. Many years later, Zhang Qiu Jianqiong, the governor of Jiannan Xichuan, donated his salary, and Haitong's apprentice led the craftsmen to continue to build the Buddha. Due to the huge project, the imperial court also ordered the local hemp salt tax to be used for the project, so that the project progressed rapidly. When the Leshan Giant Buddha was repaired to his knees, Zhang Qiu Jianqiong was transferred to the Minister of Household Affairs, and the project was stopped again after he left. Forty years later, Wei Gao, the governor of Jiannan Xichuan, donated his salary to continue the construction of the Leshan Giant Buddha. With the efforts of three generations of craftsmen, it took 90 years to complete it in the nineteenth year of Tang Dezong's Zhenyuan (803 AD).

It is said that when the Giant Buddha was completed, it was refined, majestic and majestic, and a nine-story wooden pavilion was built on top of the Giant Buddha to protect it from the sun and rain. The wooden pavilion is extremely spectacular, and it is called the "Big Buddha Pavilion". The Buddhist pavilion was repeatedly built and destroyed, and finally it was almost abandoned. Today, many holes on the body of the Giant Buddha and the nearby cliff walls were left by the wooden pavilion erected at that time.

Later, the cultural relics department inspected the Buddha and confirmed that the drainage system of the Buddha is very scientific and complex, and there is a set of cleverly designed and hidden drainage systems on the head of the Buddha, behind the ears and head of the Buddha, and there are also drainage ditches in the collar and clothing patterns. These ditches and caves form a scientific drainage, moisture insulation and ventilation system, which has played an important role in protecting the Big Buddha and preventing erosive weathering for thousands of years. It can be seen that the ancients not only had the courage and courage to build the Buddha, but also had a serious scientific attitude and methods, which is highly admirable.

On the right side of the Big Buddha, there is also a road to the top of the mountain, climb up the two-story plank road, and enter an artificially excavated cave, the end of the cave is halfway up the mountain, and a mountain road connects to the scenic spot on the top of the mountain.

Back at the top of the mountain, we browsed the various attractions at the top of the mountain.

Su Garden is an ancestral hall commemorating the three masters of Su Shi in the Song Dynasty, located on a small mountain mouth of Lingyun Mountain. The three promenades in the garden can overlook the surrounding scenery; A hall with a plaque written "Dongpo Hall". In the middle of the hall is a statue of Dongpo, with a long beard and a majestic atmosphere, and the awe-inspiring spirit of the ancient literati who is neither humble nor arrogant, poor is self-righteous, and rich is to help the world. A fish pond in the garden, goldfish playing lotus, moving in stillness; A few clusters of green bamboo, emerald green, tall and beautiful. Entering the garden, it is quiet and elegant, cool and comfortable.

When

will the bright moon be, ask the blue sky for wine. I wonder what year it is tonight in the heavenly palace? I want to ride the wind back, but I fear that the jade towers and jade palaces will not be too cold to endure. Dancing and playing with clear shadows, how can it compare to being in the human world? Turning the vermilion pavilion, I low the carved door, illuminating the sleepless sky. There should be no regrets; why do we always feel full when we part? People have their joys and sorrows, and the moon has its waxing and waning; this matter has been difficult to fully understand since ancient times. I hope people will last a long time, thousands of miles together .

Passersby outside the wall, the beauty inside the wall laughs. The laughter gradually faded away, and the sound gradually faded away; the affectionate one was annoyed by the ruthlessness.

years of life and death are two vague, do not think about it, and it is unforgettable. A lonely grave stretches thousands of miles away, with nowhere to express its desolation. Even if we met, we would probably not recognize each other; my face was covered in dust, and my mane was as white as frost. Last night, I suddenly dreamed of returning to my hometown, and by the small window, I was dressing up. We looked at each other in silence, only tears streaming down my face. I imagine that every year I will be heartbroken, on a moonlit night, on a short pine ridge.

......

Su Xun was Su Shi's father and a writer of the Northern Song Dynasty.

Su Xun is good at prose, especially good at political theory, clear discussion, strong penmanship, and author of 20 volumes of "Jiayou Collection", as well as 3 volumes of "Yi Fa" and "Song History Biography". The most prominent feature of Su Xun's prose is that it is sharp language, pointing out the shortcomings of the times, profound arguments, and thorough reasoning. Su Xun's article structure is carefully laid out, like a brilliant architect, organically unifying the content and form of the article, and uniquely designing buildings with different styles. The language of Su Xun's articles, every word is jeweled, every sentence is treasured, both simple and condensed, but also vivid and vivid, with witty words and rich connotations, which makes people memorable after reading.

To this day, his famous book "The Theory of the Six Kingdoms" is still included in middle school Chinese textbooks.

Su Zhe, Su Shi's brother, was a writer, poet, and prime minister of the Northern Song Dynasty.

Su Zhe's life and knowledge were deeply influenced by his father and brother, known for his prose, good at political theory and historical theory, and his poems tried to follow Su Shi's poems, with a simple style and unpretentiousness, and a little literary talent. Su Zhe is also good at calligraphy, and his calligraphy is chic and free, neat and orderly. He is the author of "Poetry Biography", "Spring and Autumn Biography", "Luancheng Collection" and so on.

Looking at the railing, the heart is stirring, the earth is up and down, the waves of the three rivers roll eastward, looking back at the ancestral hall, remembering the three Su, a Wensheng throughout the ages, the three Su fathers and brothers are starry. I am deeply impressed by this place of spiritual people.

Coming out of Suyuan, passing through the wine pavilion, the Guanyin Path goes up, and you can reach a mountain gate. Cross the mountain gate into the enclosure, climb the stone steps to a small square, with pavilions and treasure furnaces. Looking up, the gate of Lingyun Temple is high, with cornices and green tiles, majestic and spectacular. A huge gold plaque hangs high in the middle of the temple gate, with the words "Lingyun Zen Monastery" written by Su Dongpo. The joint text on both sides is "The great river goes east, and Buddhism comes from the west". This couplet is concise and concise, not only has a sense of solemnity of Buddhism, but also shows the geographical location of Lingyun Temple, and cleverly embeds the word "Big Buddha" in it, showing the extraordinary momentum of this thousand-year-old temple.

Lingyun Temple was built during the Tang Tianbao period, before the excavation of the Giant Buddha, and has a history of more than 1,300 years.

Lingyun Temple is a triple courtyard building composed of the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Hall of Daxiong and the Sutra Building, with red walls and green tiles and green trees. In front of the Hall of Heavenly Kings, there are four steles of the Ming and Qing dynasties rebuilt on both sides of the hall. The statue in the center of the Hall of Heavenly Kings is a seated statue of Maitreya, with a white belly and a happy face, commonly known as the "pot-bellied Arhat", and the four statues of the Heavenly Kings are arranged on both sides, with eyebrows and angry eyes, majestic and majestic. Behind the Hall of the King of Heaven is the Wei Tuo Hall, which enshrines the protector god Wei Tuo carved with wood.

Passing through the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Daxiong Treasure Hall was built in the Ming Dynasty, and was the main place for monks to hold religious activities. In the center of the hall sits the three statues of Shakyamuni (the present body, the body of the body, and the body of the reward), with beautiful shape and solemn demeanor; Eighteen Arhats are lined up on both sides, with different gods and shapes, lifelike. On the back of the Daxiong Treasure Hall is a newly sculpted clean bottle of Guanyin, with statues of Manjushri, Puxian, Ksitigarbha and the Four Bodhisattvas of Dashi on both sides, which are works before the Ming Dynasty. On both sides of the Daxiong Treasure Hall, there are bells and drums hanging high. This thousand-pound bell, once impacted, resounded far and wide.

The last hall in the temple is the Sutra Building, which was originally a place to collect Buddhist scriptures in the temple and was newly built in 1930. From its structure and appearance, you can see the modern architectural style, which is unique and interesting in the temple. The new "Haishi Hall" is built downstairs, with the full-body statues of the builders of the Great Buddha, Master Haitong, Zhang Qiu Jianqiong, and Wei Gao, so as to express the admiration of future generations for them.

The two wings of the temple are the Zen room, the guest room, the hall, the Jizo Hall, the release pond, etc.

Cen Shen, a famous poet of the Tang Dynasty and the governor of Jiazhou, once wrote a poem praising: "The temple comes out of the birds, and the green peaks carry the red tower." If one could understand the vastness of the universe, look down at the three rivers flowing down. On a clear day, I gaze at Emei Mountain, as if floating on the waves. Not

far north from Lingyun Temple is Lingbao Peak, the highest point of Lingyun Mountain, on which is a brick tower - Lingbao Pagoda. The tower was built in the Song Dynasty and was repaired in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The tower is built of bricks, a square thirteen-story hollow eaves square cone, sitting east to west, 38 meters high. The first floor is particularly high, and the upper layers shrink to the top of the tower. The Lingbao Pagoda has 5 floors, each floor is equipped with Buddha niches, and there are stone Buddha statues; All five floors have windows, which can not only provide light, but also allow tourists to look around. Climbing to the top of the tower, the view is wide, the mountains on the east side overlap, and the momentum is majestic; In the south, you can see the Sutra Building and Dongpo Building, the river in the west seems to pour out of the sky, and the three are like a boat floating in the sea of clouds; A bird's-eye view of the whole city of Leshan from the north, like a colorful phoenix with wings spread on the green waves. The Qing people have a poem: "The secret opening of the spiritual treasure breaks the cloud root, and the three waters are exchanged for thousands of horses." The light looks like it can be seen outside the Boro Plains, and the peaks are lined up here.

At that time, according to the situation of the mountains and rivers, this tower was built as a ship symbol to enable boatmen to improve their attention in order to safely cross the rapids and dangerous beaches, and now, the Lingbao Pagoda has become a symbol of Leshan.

A few tens of meters east of the Lingbao Pagoda, there is a quiet small courtyard hidden in the dense trees. Walking into the courtyard, there was no one there, and the plaque of the courtyard door had the words "Moruotang" written on it. Moruotang is in memory of Guo Moruo.

Guo Moruo was born on November 16, 1892 in Shawan Town, Guan'e Township, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, formerly known as Guo Kaizhen, pen name Moruo, a famous modern Chinese poet, writer, historian, paleographer, playwright, social activist, and revolutionary. Therefore, if Leshan is the confluence of the Min River, Qingyi River, and Dadu River, the Dadu River is also called Mo Shui, and the Qingyi River is called Ruoshui, he was born here, and he was called Guo Moruo.

Guo Moruo was a very talented person, who went to Japan to study medicine in his early years, and later changed to literature halfway due to ear disease, and became famous on the road of literature. Guo Moruo published many important works that influenced the Chinese literary world throughout his life. The new poetry collection "Goddess" is the foundation of Chinese new poetry, and he has become one of the important founders of Chinese new poetry.

Drama works include "Qu Yuan", "Tiger Talisman", "Tangdi Flower", "Nanguan Grass", "Peacock Gall", "Gao Jianli", "Cai Wenji", "Wu Zetian", etc., among which "Qu Yuan" is the most popular, creating a literary and cultural road that combines popular form and elite creation, and coexists with modernity and traditional national culture.

In terms of history, books such as "The Age of Slavery" put forward insights on the periodization of slavery and feudalism in China during the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period; Guo Moruo founded the historical materialism school in China, which has since occupied the mainstream position in Chinese academia.

In terms of archaeology, Guo Moruo's important works such as "Interpretation of the Two Weeks of Jinwen Ci Catalogue", "Jinwen Congka", "Divination Compilation", etc., have caused a sensation in the academic community.

In terms of translation, the translation of Goethe's "Faust" had a huge impact.

He is also a famous contemporary calligrapher, and his calligraphy shows a romantic style full of passion and cleanses, forming a popular "Guo style" in China, becoming a model of scholarly calligraphers in the 20th century.

These achievements have laid him another glorious banner on the Chinese cultural front after Lu Xun.

Guo Moruo is not only talented, but also an important social activist of our time. In 1927, he became deputy director of the General Political Department of the Northern Expeditionary Army under the command of Commander-in-Chief Chiang Kai-shek. When Chiang Kai-shek massacred the Communist Party, Guo Moruo resolutely joined the Communist Party of China and participated in the August 1st Nanchang Uprising, and was immediately wanted by Chiang Kai-shek and took refuge in Japan. With the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War and the second cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, Guo Moruo returned to China and served as the director of the Third Department of the Political Department of the Military Commission of the Nationalist Government.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Guo Moruo successively served as a member of the Central People's Government, vice premier of the State Council and director of the Culture and Education Committee, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Guo Moruo has a glorious side and a criticizing side. He is more casual in love, and has had three wives and many lovers, including Japanese Tomiko Sato.

Guo Moruo's various wise self-preservation performances in his later years were also the main reason why his political personality was questioned later.

On June 12, 1978, Guo Moruo died in Beijing; According to his will, the ashes were scattered in the terraced fields of Dazhai People's Commune, Xiyang County, Shanxi Province, on the Loess Plateau, without returning to the shores of Moruo and the foothills of Lingyun Mountain.

Entering the foyer, there is a bust of Guo Moruo in the middle, staring at every tourist who enters through glasses. In the hall, Guo Moruo's books were lined up with booths, and on the walls were his calligraphy, as well as excerpts from his works: "How many people's tears in exchange for this honor." Thinking of him, tears were about to fall, and the laughter was silent. "Fire is phoenix. The phoenix is fire. Soar! Soar! Singing! Singing!"I skinned me, I ate my flesh, I sucked my blood, I bit my heart and liver, I ran on my nerves, I ran on my spinal cord, I ran on my brain. I am me! Mine I'm going to explode!

Guo Moruo's blood-pumping shout kept echoing in his ears.

I walked to the end of the yard. Here you can overlook the three rivers, and at this moment, the westward sun reflects the river surface, the sparkling waves, and the river is resplendent. The buildings in Leshan City are hazy, so faint and small in the huge brilliance of the sun's waves.

In his mind, Haitong, Su Shi, and Guo Moruo flashed one by one. People, the meaning of life, or like Haitong, have left behind shocking achievements and a perfect life; Or like the glory of the river in front of you, as soon as the sun sets, everything disappears cleanly, and even the stars of the fireflies are gone; Or the grass and trees are in autumn, and the dew is in the morning, and they live in this world without doing anything. Thinking of this, people like me have mixed feelings in their hearts, which is not a taste.

Out of the south gate of Lingyun Scenic Area, there is a bridge not far along the river, and you will cross the bridge to a small island, which is a mountain - Wuyou Mountain.
