Ten years ago, we took an 11-and-a-half-hour shuttle bus from Chengdu Tea Shop Passenger Station to Jiuzhaigou, driving from 6:30 in the morning until 6 pm. At present, Jiuzhaigou is still not connected to the highway. It can be seen that the difficulty of the Shu Road is a real difficulty, the difficulty of geography, and the solution to the difficulty of the Shu Road cannot be achieved overnight!
On this trip to northwest Sichuan/Gannan, we saw with our own eyes that the two highways from Wenxian in Gansu Province and Ruoerge in Sichuan Province to Jiuzhaigou are going hand in hand, and road builders are fighting day and night in the mountains, and the construction scene is very touching!
Before entering Sichuan, we repeatedly scrutinized the path from Jianmen Pass to Jiuzhaigou: one was to take the highway 160 kilometers for about 2 hours to Pingwu (stay in Pingwu that day), and the next day to walk 118 kilometers (Pingsong Road) for about 3 hours to Huanglong, and then go to Jiuzhaigou after visiting Huanglong; the other is highway + national highway 292 kilometers, the journey takes about 6 hours to go to Jiuzhaigou, Gansu Province, and then go to Huanglong after visiting Jiuzhaigou the next day, the total journey is two days; Then take a detour to Mao County, the road conditions are relatively better, but the journey is about 500 kilometers, which is obviously not advisable. We originally planned to take (Pingsong Road) first Huanglong and then Jiuzhaigou, but the continuous rain in early June caused this road to be partially destroyed by water. For this reason, we decided to go from Wen County, Gansu Province to Jiuzhaigou.
On the afternoon of July 16, we set off from the north gate of Jianmenguan and followed the established path: first take the Lanhai Expressway to Wenxian, Gansu Province, and then switch all the way to G212, Pingmian Expressway, G247, G544 to the Home Inn Hotel at Jiuzhaigou Goukou. The journey is 292 kilometers and takes almost six and a half hours (see photo above).
The picture shows us leaving Sichuan and entering the boundary of Gansu. Why do you say the road to Jiuzhaigou? Because whether in the past or now, people's impression is always that the Shu Road is difficult, and when you walk into the mountains of the Longmen Mountains, you know that it is not only the Shu Road that is difficult, it can be described as the Long Road/Qin Road, and the Road is not easy! We are deeply touched by this.
The G212 we took that day is an important highway in northern Sichuan/southern Gannan, and it is also the shortest path from Jianmen Pass to Jiuzhaigou. G212 is built along the two rivers (Bailongjiang River and Baishui River) along the mountains and rivers, with beautiful scenery along the way, including Tuanyu River, Bikou Ancient Town, Yulei Pass, Tianchi Park, Huanglingou, Baishui River Reserve and many other attractions on the Dajiuzhai Tourist Loop. However, the road conditions of G212 are very poor, with narrow roads, many curves, many large vehicles, and many villages. Although it has improved in recent years (many tunnels, bridges, and pavements are often renovated), due to the instability of the roadbed and slope in the Longmen Mountain earthquake zone, it is still difficult to walk overall. Therefore, it is jokingly called "beautiful scenery, the worst road" by travelers!

In the afternoon of the same day, we transferred from Yujiawan in Wenxian County, Gansu Province to the Lanhai Expressway and went upstream along the famous Bailongjiang River. The Bailongjiang River is an important river in northern Sichuan/Gannan, which originates from the Namo Grand Canyon in Langmu Temple in Ruoerge, Sichuan, with a total length of 576 kilometers, flowing through many popular attractions in Long/Shu, and joining the Jialing River in Guangyuan, Sichuan. On this trip, we will follow this "poetic river" all the way to Jiuzhaigou, Ruoerge, Zhagana, and Langmu Temple!

After passing the Yulei Pass in Wenxian County, we bid farewell to the Bailongjiang River, continued to drive on G212, and went upstream along the Baishui River. The Baishui River is a tributary of the Bailongjiang River, which originates from the Min Mountains in the southeast of Jiuzhaigou. It is it that brings together the beautiful water of Jiuzhai that makes the Baishui River in front of you so clear and blue!
The picture shows us entering Sichuan from Gansu. On that day, we can be described as surrounded by mountains and rivers, over mountains and ridges, bridges and tunnels all the way, and scenery all the way. At the same time, I didn't dare to be careless all the way, and finally finished the (147 kilometers) of the fearful G212. From Wen County, Gansu Province to Jiuzhaigou County, Sichuan, and embarked on the famous landscape avenue G544, at this time, everyone breathed a sigh of relief!

At 8:30 p.m., we arrived at the side street at the entrance of Jiuzhaigou.
Stay at Home Inn on Bianbian Street (1700 meters away from Jiuzhaigou). At this point, we took two highways from Jianmen Pass in the afternoon, two rivers and three national highways, traveled cautiously all the way, crossed mountains and wading through nearly 300 kilometers, drove for about 6 and a half hours, and finally "arrived home" safely. Self-driving travel is like this, if you want to travel well, you must travel steadily!
In front of me is the QR code scanning bicycle station next to the hotel, and there is still the Baishui River outside the guardrail. Today, we have come all the way from it to Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan, where "Jiuzhai returns without looking at the water"!
More than ten years ago, we came to Jiuzhaigou, where we visited for two days, stayed for three days, and traveled to and from Chengdu for a total of four days, visiting almost every corner of Jiuzhaigou. At that time, I thought that I could only come here once in my life. At that time, there were no online booking of tickets or hotels, so we printed the information about it into a "road book" and crossed the river by feeling the stones all the way to make the trip. Today, when I came here again, a well-known and fresh Jiuzhaigou was coming to me!

Nowadays, it is a special tourist trail, from which it is very convenient for people to go to the ditch, and they can enjoy the beautiful scenery, enjoy food, and choose hotels along the way; In the evening, when you return from Jiuzhai, you can also stroll here, watch song and dance performances, and participate in bonfires. It can really be said: the landscape inside Jiuzhaigou is still beautiful, and the old appearance outside Jiuzhaigou has a new look!

As a world-class natural and cultural heritage, how beautiful Jiuzhaigou is may never be determined. According to records, in 1992, UNESCO visited Jiuzhaigou for the first time, and it was raining and foggy that day, and the vision was blinded for a while. And when they walked to the sea of sparks, the sky suddenly opened up, the sun passed through the mist, drawing a beautiful rainbow in the sky, and the enchanting and gorgeous sea of sparks immediately appeared in front of them, and they were stunned by the beautiful scenery in front of them. to Huanglong On the morning of July 18, we traveled from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong. The driving route is: take G544 to Chuanzhusi Temple and transfer to S301 (Pingsong Road) to Huanglong, the journey is 108 kilometers and about 2 hours. After that, plan to visit Huanglong for 5 hours and rush to your accommodation in Ruoerge that night (see photo below).
Jiuzhaigou Home Inn Business Hotel for two days is located next to the beautiful Baishui River and can see the mountain view in the guest rooms. It left us with a good impression (see image below).
It is said that the beautiful scenery is on the road, and the mountains at the mouth of Jiuzhaigou are surrounded by clouds and mist, like a fairyland, and we drive on the road from Home Inn Business Hotel, which can be described as "the current scenery can't stop". Along the beautiful landscape avenue G544, the mountains and rivers of Minshan are beautiful all the way.

Huanglong has added sightseeing buses on the ropeway, which can save 2 kilometers...... Huanglong can also put small planes, which is more humane...... The level of tourists coming to Huanglong is richer (self-driving, parent-child, self-help, companionship, etc. have become the mainstream)...... Now that I come to Huanglong, the mountains are no longer high and the road is no longer long!
