Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong should be the most well-known scenic spots in Sichuan.
I remember coming here to play more than ten years ago, from Chengdu, the car had to drive for 1 whole day, and the road conditions were not good. Now that the high-speed rail is open, the distance from Chengdu to Jiuhuang has been greatly shortened.
Of course, high-speed rail is the first choice to go to Jiuhuang. At 5:40 a.m. on September 30, we left the Yinqitang Hotel to catch the high-speed train from Chengdu East Railway Station to Jiuhuang at 6:45. The road was a little congested, and it was raining lightly, and the experienced taxi driver managed to avoid a section of traffic jam and arrived at the station early. When we entered the station for security check, the two oxygen cylinders we brought were detained, which was a backup for worrying about high back oxygen intake. Yes or no? I feel that we will not be arrogant, we don't need it anymore, and we should be happy. The train honked on time and arrived at Huangjiu Station. At 9 a.m., the local driver picked us up.

Huangjiu Station is 91 kilometers away from Jiuzhaigou Gully and 26 kilometers away from Huanglong Scenic Area. In the area of Jiuzhaigou Huanglong, we plan to play for 3 days. On the first day, see several small attractions such as Munigou, Songpan Ancient City, Red Army Memorial Hall, the source of the Minjiang River, and Zhongchagou, stay at the mouth of Jiuzhaigou, focus on Jiuzhaigou on the second day, visit Huanglong on the third day, and then take the high-speed rail to the next stop. This arrangement is mainly due to the consideration of coping with high reactions. It is understood that the sea at the mouth of Jiuzhaigou is about 2,000 meters, and the long sea at the height of the ditch is more than 3,100 meters; Munigou is more than 3,200 meters; Huanglong is the highest, and the colorful pool on the top of the mountain is about 3,500 meters. The yellow dragon is placed at the end, which is conducive to gradual adaptation and avoids fainting. For convenience, we rented a seven-seater Mercedes.
The driver is a Tibetan named Ze Rang Rensuke. Ze Rang sent us to Munigou first, and half an hour later we saw the famous Zaga Calcified Waterfall in Munigou. Munigou is a niche attraction, there are not many tourists here, it seems that only one Korean tour group is seen.
Munigou is worth seeing. It combines the beauty of Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, but it is quieter than Jiuzhaigou and more imposing than Huanglong. Munigou Scenic Area consists of two parts, Zaga Waterfall and Erdaohai, which are about 15 kilometers apart.
The upper reaches of Zaga Waterfall are forested lakes, and the lower reaches are a series of terraced riverbeds. Hundreds of layers of waterfall jade beads, falling down through three levels of calcified steps, impact into a huge calcification surface to form huge white flowers, the sound of the waterfall is like thunder, and the sound and shape are both sound and form.

After a steep plank road, a waterfall pours down, and above is the source of Zaga Waterfall.

At half past 11, I went down the mountain and left Munigou to go to the ancient city of Songpan.
Songpan, known as Songzhou in ancient times, is a famous border town in history and a hub connecting Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong and other scenic spots. The ancient city is magnificent, with the two big characters "Songzhou" written on the city gate, and there are sculptures of Princess Wencheng and Songtsen Gampo at the city gate, interpreting the vivid story of Princess Wencheng marrying and marrying and realizing the Tang-Tibetan alliance more than 1,400 years ago during the Tang Dynasty and Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, and also left a good story for Songpan that has been recited through the ages. Princess Wencheng was sent to Songpan by the Tang Dynasty envoy and was taken back to Tibet by Songtsen Gampo. Princess Wencheng was erudite and versatile, and had a great influence on the enlightenment of the Tibetan state, not only consolidating the western border defense of the Tang Dynasty, but also spreading the culture of the Han people to Tibet. Princess Wencheng is considered the embodiment of Green Tara in Tibetan Buddhism.

Songpan Ancient Street After entering the city, we walked around the ancient street and went to Shangmo Lavender Collector's House for lunch. Lavender Collector is located in Chuanzhusi Town, which is affiliated with Songpan County. It is recommended by Ze Rang, an authentic Tibetan yak meal. We drank the fire of the earth Buddha gum tea (Tibetans specially brew it with Minshan sacred water, half an hour's drive from the water intake), ate yak beef sausages, yak beef buns, yak ribs, dipped in hot sauce made by Tibetans, and two local vegetables, especially Tibetan homemade yogurt, sprinkled with a layer of sugar, sour and sweet and crunchy, very delicious. We think the Difo gum tea is good, and Ze Rang sent us a little (the divine water is free), which is a later story.

——Minjiangyuan. There is Min Mountain, and then there is Min River. Minshan Mountain stretches from southern Gansu Province to northwestern Sichuan Province, with a total length of more than 700 kilometers, and there is a saying of "a thousand miles of Minshan", and its main peak Xuebaoding is 5,588 meters above sea level, and the Red Army's Long March once had this mountain. I remembered the great man's poem "I like the snow of Minshan for thousands of miles, and I am happy after the three armies". The main peak of Minshan Mountain is in Songpan County, and the source of the Minjiang River is also here. It is said that the source of the Minjiang River has an eastern source and a western source, the eastern source comes from the Gonggang Ridge of more than 3,700 meters in Haiba, and the eastern source is the main source. The Min River has a total length of 1,279 kilometers, flows through Dujiangyan, and finally joins the Yangtze River.

——Zhongchagou. Zhongchagou, known as the "back garden of Jiuzhaigou", is only separated from the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area by a mountain, 8 kilometers away from the mouth of Jiuzhaigou, and is a canyon about 10 kilometers long and 3.5 kilometers wide. Just passing by, I didn't see much scenery, and I saw tourists riding horses in the distance and ancient Tibetan villages up close.

Jiuzhaigou has a large forest coverage area, and there are nine Tibetan villages in the ditch, hence the name. In the 70s of the 20th century, a group of lumberjacks who occasionally entered discovered this wonderland, and they showed mercy to the current Jiuzhaigou. In 1982, the State Council approved Jiuzhaigou as a national scenic spot, and it was officially opened to the public in 1984.
We left the hotel at 7:35 in the morning, and a quarter of an hour later, Zerang sent us to the gate of Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, entered the ditch at 8 o'clock, got on the scenic sightseeing bus at 8:05, and arrived at Nuorilang Central Station through Shuzhenggou at 8:25 a.m., which is the transit station for visiting Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, located at the center of "Ya". The so-called "Ya" refers to the tour route model of Jiuzhaigou. The scenic spots of Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area are distributed in a "ya" shape by three main ditches: Zechawa Ditch, Rize Ditch and Shuzheng Ditch, with a total length of about 60 kilometers. The left branch of the "Ya" shape is Zecha Wagou, and the main attractions are Changhai, Colorful Pond, Upper Seasonal Sea and Lower Seasonal Sea. The right branch of the "Ya" shape is Rize Ditch, which is the most important and essence scenic spot area in Jiuzhaigou, including primeval forest, fragrant grass sea, swan sea, arrow bamboo sea, panda sea, five flower sea, pearl beach, mirror sea, Nuorilang waterfall, etc. The branch below the "Ya" shape is Shuzhenggou (the bottom end is the entrance to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area), and the main attractions include Rhino Sea, Tiger Sea, Shuzheng Village, Reed Sea and Bonsai Beach.
Our car drove to the left route of "Ya" to Changhai. Changhai is the longest lake in Jiuzhaigou, more than four kilometers long, and the water source comes from the melting snow in the mountains. Strangely, the Changhai never dries up or overflows, so Tibetans call it a treasure gourd that "is not full and leaks". Changhai can also be regarded as the mother of all the seas in Jiuzhaigou. Because the Changhai has no water outlet, it can only rely on evaporation and underground rivers to discharge water, and these underground channels are important supplies for other Haizi water sources.

When we arrived at Changhai, it was snowing, probably because of the high sea. The staff said that this is the first snow in Jiuzhaigou in 2024, and you are lucky enough to encounter it. We are really "lucky"! The long sea is shrouded in mist, and the water vapor rises. We followed the scenic plank road and descended about a kilometer to the colorful pool.

With a construction area of 12,000 square meters, Nuorilang Central Station is the only comprehensive service place in the ditch that integrates tourism management, consultation, complaints, ambulance, public security, fire protection, tourist souvenir sales, tourist rest and catering, and is also a diversion and dispatch center for sightseeing buses. Catering and shopping are very modern, with a strong business atmosphere, which is also convenient for tourists.
I took a short break at the tourist service center and sold milk tea and rice cakes, which were not expensive. At 11:05, we got on the "Ya" right line sightseeing bus, went upstream along the Peacock River, and arrived at the primeval forest at 11:33.
The primeval forest covers more than half of Jiuzhaigou, with a wide variety of plants in the forest, a variety of wild animals breeding and inhabiting here, and the forest land is covered with thick moss, full of wild fun in the world. Simply turn around, and we leave the primeval forest and walk down.

At this time, we have two options, one is to take the sightseeing bus directly to the Swan Sea, and the other is to walk along the plank road to the Fangcao Sea and the Swan Sea, but we have to walk 3 kilometers. I heard that the scenery on the way was good, so we decided to walk. Indeed, the scenery along the way is very beautiful, with clouds and mist, grass and trees, beautiful mountains and rivers, and fresh air, which makes people linger. The 3-kilometer journey took us about 1 and a half hours to walk and play, which was worth it.

Wild Sea of Flowers.Wuhuahai has the reputation of "Jiuzhai Yi Unique" and "Jiuzhai Essence", with rich colors and thousands of postures, which is famous for Jiuzhai. On the west side of Wuhua Sea, there is a plank road that is an excellent point to enjoy the water and autumn colors, and many tourists stop here to watch the scenery.
Pearl Beach. Pearl Beach is a relatively wide stone beach in Jiuzhaigou, the clear lake water rushes down through the spacious beach surface, and the lake water splashes water droplets on the sloping and uneven stone beach, resembling pearls, so it is called Pearl Beach. Pearl Beach Waterfall is quite spectacular. The waterfall is 21 meters high and 162.5 meters wide at the top, and it emits an earth-shattering roar in the valley, like the Milky Way falling from the sky, and the momentum is extraordinary. Pearl Beach is also the place where Tang monks and apprentices wade through the water at the beginning of the TV series "Journey to the West".
Between Pearl Beach and the Mirror Sea lies a boulder, called "8.8 stone". This tragic event will always be recorded: a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred in Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province at 21:19:46 on August 8, 2017, the epicenter was located 5 kilometers west of the core scenic spot of Jiuzhaigou, the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area was damaged by the earthquake, and some scenic spots and roads leading to the scenic spot were damaged by landslides, and the "8.8 stone" is a witness.
Mirror Sea. As the name suggests, the mirror sea is like a mirror, replicating the scenery on the ground and in the air to the water surface without distortion.
Bonsai in the sea Nori Lang Falls is gone. First, I had seen some waterfalls before, and secondly, I was afraid that time would run out. It is said that the waterfall is 270 meters wide, making it the widest waterfall in our country. It may be a pity not to see it. Leave the right branch of "Ya" and walk towards the lower branch. At 16:45 p.m., we arrived at the Rhino Sea.
The Rhino Sea is about 2.2 kilometers long, 17 meters deep, and the water is open, which is the second largest sea in Jiuzhaigou after Changhai, especially the intoxicating blue water surface in the sea, which is amazing. According to legend, in ancient times, there was a seriously ill and dying Tibetan lama who rode a rhinoceros here. When he drank the lake water here, his illness was miraculously eliminated. The lama was reluctant to leave, and finally rode a rhinoceros into the sea and settled here forever, from which the rhino sea was named.

Shuzheng Village is the largest and most prosperous of the nine Tibetan villages in Jiuzhaigou, and more than 400 out of 1,000 people live in Shuzheng Village. There are nine white pagodas at the entrance of the village, called the Nine Treasure Lotus Bodhi Pagoda, which represent nine Tibetan villages, the largest of which represents Shuzheng Village. Shuzheng Village can see the Tibetan architectural style, paintings on doors and windows and Tibetan costumes, and experience the daily life and folk culture of Tibetans. This was once the location filming location of the movie "Heroes from Ancient Times".
Next, we went to Bonsai Beach. Bonsai Beach is the first attraction after entering Jiuzhaigou, and it is the last attraction compared to our tour. The water flows through the forest on the beach, known as "one tree and one scene, like a bonsai list", in fact, the characteristics are not very obvious, if the time is too tight, it is okay not to look at it.
Bonsai Beach It was already past 6 p.m. Ze Rang picked us up and took us back to the hotel, walking more than 31,000 steps that day, ending a pleasant and tense day of trip to Jiuzhaigou.
Looking back, although Jiuzhaigou has many tourist attractions and distances, it is not chaotic at all, and it does not feel too crowded, especially the scenic spot shuttle bus stop, no matter how many people there are, it doesn't take long to wait, sightseeing buses arrive at the station one after another, tourists can quickly get on the bus, there is a tour guide in the car, there is a guide under the car, and there are service personnel in the scenic spot, which is convenient and comfortable, indicating that the scenic spot has a strong scheduling reception ability and management ability.

Huanglong Scenic Area is located under the top of Xuebao, the main peak of Minshan Mountain, and is known as the "Yaochi in the World", and the scenic spot is famous for its "four uniques" of colorful ponds, snow-capped mountains, canyons and forests. In December 1992, Huanglong Scenic Area was listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.

When passing by Chuanzhusi Town, Ze Rang invited us to sit at his house and gladly went. Ze Rang's family lived on a high slope in Chuanzhusi Town, and as soon as they entered his house, they felt that the living room was more luxurious, with a wooden coffee table in the center, next to a wood-burning stove, two rows of vertical cabinets magnificent, and photos of their county Panchen Lama hanging in the middle of the cabinets, which is Tibetan etiquette. Ze Rang once served as the village chief and was a prosperous family. Ze Rang's brother-in-law and brother received us warmly, and they made butter tea and brewed saffron for us.
After tasting tea, we thanked the Zerang family for their hospitality and left Zerang's house at half past eight to continue on our way. Ze Rang walked through the streets, inserted a shortcut, and arrived at Huanglong Scenic Area at 9:05. After getting off the shuttle bus, an extremely magnificent overhead view appeared in front of us. Descending a section, we came to 600 meters away from the peak colorful pool (travertine pool), and we climbed up along the plank road. Along the way, there is a golden travertine beach stream, like a golden "dragon", graceful in the dense forest valley, which is probably the origin of the yellow dragon.

Huanglong Temple was built in the Ming Dynasty to worship the Yellow Dragon. According to the "Songpan County Chronicle": It is said that Huanglong Zhenren cultivated the Tao here, hence the name. Huanglong Temple has three temples, front, middle, and back, each five miles apart. Now I see and preserve the Huanglonghou Temple, which is a courtyard building with the four characters "Huanglong Ancient Temple" written on it.

The square in front of the Huanglonghou Temple is relatively open, and there are beautiful women playing the piano. Huanglong Temple is close to the colorful pond at the highest point of Haiba, and from a distance, the plank road around the colorful pond is crowded. Suddenly, we saw someone on the side of the square taking oxygen, took a few puffs, and hurried down the mountain with oxygen bags on their backs, which seemed to be a rebellion.

In the past few days, the lowest temperature in the Jiuhuang area is only a few degrees above zero, and clothes must be thickened. In Huanglong, we wear cotton vests, small padded jackets, assault suits, and almost all the thick clothes we bring.
For the high reaction, we feel ourselves, fortunately, continue to climb.
The colorful pond is green and green, the pool water is colorful, and countless colorful ponds of different sizes are colorful and gorgeous. It turns out that the color palette that God has overturned is here! Walking by the pool is refreshing, like a fairyland, worthy of being called "Yaochi in the world".

After passing through the Horseshoe Beach, passing the Huanglong Middle Temple, we walked about 1,500 meters and saw the Immortal Bridge, which is the dividing point between immortals and immortals, and we are about to leave the fairyland and enter the world.
Huanglong Jiexian Bridge is a Taoist cultural site. Legend has it that when devout pilgrims climbed this bridge, they heard the sound of fairy music coming from the sky, and after crossing the bridge, many immortals danced by the colorful pool, and the pilgrims stepped into the wonderland of Yaochi in the seven-colored auspicious clouds. If we walk in the opposite direction, we should enter the WTO.
More than 500 meters down is the competition pool. There are two forks in the road before entering the Zhengyan Pool, both of which lead to the exit, and there are more attractions on the inner road, which is closer to the Zhengyan Pool.
The competition pool consists of more than 500 large and small color pools, which is the largest color pool group in Huanglonggou. The shape of the pool is different, and the embankment is golden and silver scales, full of light and dazzling. Each pool is colorful, competing for beauty, beautiful and magnificent, and leading the way. In my opinion, the competition pool and the colorful pool are not too much to concede. We think of the butter tea and saffron we drank at Ze Rang's house, is the lack of high reaction related to this? We can't help but have confidence in ourselves. My wife said that Huanglong's trip was worth it, and he would strive to go to Tibet next time.
