Dawang Beach, the largest beach on Gouqi Island, is only about 200 meters long. Its water quality is among the best in Zhejiang and Shanghai, and because it's free, the beach is kept relatively clean. Walking along the island's coastline, you'll find plenty of free beaches where you can enjoy the water. If you're bothered by the fees, feel free to skip this one.

By Big Tree |

The scenery of the island is quite good, but there is no professional tourism management unit, so many places have a "barbaric" feeling, the facilities are old, the service awareness is low, and it is messy...

By Still wanting more |

The largest beach on Goji Island is located in Dawang Village and has fine sand.

By Three daughters |

Passing Dawang Beach, my friend and I were in the car and our jaws dropped. This is the largest beach on Gouqi Island?!

In my mind, I compared the beaches of Weizhou Island, Beihai’s Silver Beach, Qingdao’s No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 bathing beaches, and the beach at the back gate of Xiamen University…

I silently comforted myself that we are not here to play in the sea...

There are B&Bs, restaurants and bars all around. I think there will be some barbecues or open-air concerts in the evening, which is very lively.

In summer, Qingdao's bathing beaches are always packed, and are jokingly called "dumplings everywhere", which also applies here.

Young boys and girls are playing and chasing the waves, and parents and children are having a great time together. You can always see a few people diving and jumping on the beach.

The scene that has become familiar because of the crowds is a recipe of sunshine and sea, a gift of summer.

We went there at the end of October and there were very few people. There was almost no one on the beach around 3 pm. There was no entrance fee and you could enter freely. The scenery was nice, but if you come here specifically, it is not necessary. There is nothing special.

Not recommended.

The water is indeed clear, there are indeed few people, and you can indeed catch small fish.

But,

It's just a beach the size of a square, maybe even smaller than the artificial beaches in inland city parks. How can it feel like the sea?

Despite this, they still charge 25 yuan for admission. I instantly felt sympathy for the people around me. Haven't they ever seen a truly endless beach?

By Time Slave |

The environment is good, the sea water is clean and clear, the ticket price is affordable, swimming is allowed, and the area is cleared at 5 o'clock.

By Pinellia↘️Song |

It is mainly for taking pictures. The beach is 20 yuan per person and the area is cleared at 17:00 in the afternoon. It is understandable that safety is the priority. It is recommended that you wear white when you go to the beach for the best photos, but don't forget to wear sunscreen.

By 💓Mother Bear✨🐻 |

Dawang Beach is the only beach on the island with a fee (25 yuan, half price for children). Because its coastline is longer than the other smaller beaches, I think the surrounding smaller beaches are more interesting. When we passed by around 6:00 PM, the tide was out and there were reefs around. I saw people picking up what looked like shellfish on the rocks, and there were probably small crabs to catch.

The golden beach, coupled with the blue sea and blue sky, is really amazing!

By Sunny Day Boss |

Once you get to Gouqi Island, you can see how different the water is from Shengsi. It's very blue, but the waves are quite rough. There's a swimming ring for rent on the beach, but it only accepts cash (the only place on this trip that only accepts cash).

By Just .W |

Dawang Beach is a paid beach. It is safe and reliable. Friends who want to swim can choose this beach. It is not expensive at 30 per person. After all, there are lifeguards. However, the scenery is acceptable. The waves were very big on the day we went there, and we felt a little weak, so we did not go in.

By Xiao Xi |

This beach is the largest of the two islands, Gouqi Island and Shengshan Island, and the water is relatively clean. There weren't many people there at this time, and I thought I needed an entrance fee. But the security guard told me there was no entrance fee for the next two days. I felt so lucky! Feeling the sea breeze, listening to the waves, and stepping on the water was so relaxing. When I was tired, I sat on the beach and enjoyed a moment of tranquility!

By Butterfly |

The sand is fine because it is close to a mussel farm, so there is a lack of natural marine life and fishing nets everywhere. There is not much seafood (because it is off-season)

By Wei |

It was the most heartbreaking trip I've ever taken. I won't comment on the attractions, but the water quality was good. Since we entered the island after the Spring Festival holiday, there were few tourists. At around 3 pm, we chose an inn called "Ouyu" in Dawang Village and asked for 5 rooms. The trouble started with dinner, because the inn owner had gone back to his hometown and only the landlord and his family were left to run the store. We asked to buy seafood ourselves and asked the owner to hire a chef to cook for us. The initial price was 25 yuan for braised and 20 yuan for steamed. (We bargained during the period, but we didn't agree in the end.) So after 16:00, we hurried to the vegetable market to buy vegetables. At this time, there was very little seafood, so we just bought about 8 dishes with some vegetables. After we bought them back, the old lady of the owner started nagging, saying that she would lose a lot of money buying so few dishes, and she wouldn't come to cook tomorrow. You guys We cooked for ourselves. We said that there was no vegetables in the market and we would buy more tomorrow. Then she kept nagging us, but we endured it. After dinner, we all felt that the food tasted good and praised the chef for his delicious cooking. Then we negotiated a price with the inn owner, 200 yuan per table for less than 10 dishes. The next morning, we went to the market to buy seafood and vegetables for lunch and dinner. We asked them to start cooking after we called back, but the old lady disagreed and said we had to eat between 11:00 and 11:30. We had no choice but to set the time for dinner at 11:30. As a result, when we arrived at the inn at 11:30, the dishes were already cooked and cold. We said that the dishes were cold and not very tasty. We would cook them when we came back in the evening. Okay, but she said that she would not come to cook dinner and we should cook it our own ways. She even insisted on paying 200 yuan for the meal she didn't cook. It was speechless. I argued with her, and she finally agreed to pay 100 yuan for the gas. But while I was cooking, the old lady came to the kitchen at least ten times, complaining that the kitchen walls were blackened by the fire (from flipping the wok), and then complaining that she used too much oil. I really admire her. It's not like she didn't pay me. We told her that running a business like this would mean no repeat customers and a bad reputation, but she said it wasn't necessary. I had no choice but to end my stay early. Her nagging ruined my vacation. I don't know how the owner managed to keep this inn open; she drives away all kinds of guests. But it didn't matter. It was just a business trip. The next morning, as I was leaving, I wanted to wet a car towel downstairs to clean the cab, and she came over and asked if I needed to clean the car. I quickly said no, but I was just going to wet it. Well, I can't afford to offend, but I can afford to avoid it. No more Goji Island, no more chance encounters!

Goji Island has a better beach, but the ticket price is 25 yuan during peak season.

By Mimi Sheep Baby |

The sea water is very clear, the sand is soft, and the sunlight shines on the sea, shining golden, which is very beautiful.

By Cloud, lemon scent |

Dawang Beach is not big, but it is the largest beach on Goji Island and is closed at night.

By Shi Jiayi |

Compared to the other beaches, this is the most formal one. The entire beach is about 200 meters long, which is not long. Although it looks blue-green from a distance, the visibility is less than one meter after entering the water. The facilities are relatively poor, there is no shower, and the changing and storage areas are very dirty and simple. But it is indeed better than the other beaches. Please don't be fooled by my photos, I am a professional player. This is a picture taken with a mobile phone.

By Cassie Zhu Xiaodan |

I was so excited to see the blue sea! ! ! !

By Good little pig |

The dark brown bathing beach is full of sewage, which is much worse than the free nearby beaches. The ticket sales are inexplicable!

By Qizaki R |

The beach is closed and charges admission during the peak season. It is less than one-tenth the size of Dadonghai Beach. It is very small, but it is nice to have a blue sea and a beach so close to Shanghai.

By Diaspora |

Dawang Beach is the largest beach on Gouqi Island. Compared to other beaches like Zhoushan's Nansha Beach and Shengsi's Jihu Beach, it's considered smaller. At just over 200 meters long and 20 meters wide, the sand is fine, and the water is incredibly blue. In the summer, the area is bustling with tourists enjoying the water.

By Aya Tang |

The sand is very fine and the waves are very clear, suitable for swimming or playing motorboat

By ~Hehe~Adan¥ |

The only beach in Gouqi Island and Shengshan that charges admission is its reputation. In reality, the coastline is only about 200 meters long and there are many people, making it less comfortable than some of the smaller beaches nearby. There's really no need to insist on going to Dawang Beach; all the beaches are similar.

By Bobo |

Dawang Beach is not as good as I imagined. It is long and narrow, a little small, and the sand quality is average. If you have to buy a ticket, it feels not worth it~~ We entered from the wire mesh at the back. Walking down from the back, there is a door tied with a red rope, which can be opened to go in~~~~ The sea water is still very cold in May, but the scenery is good and it is very beautiful to take pictures~~~

By Post-adolescent innocence |

We asked for tickets but didn't go in. There were a lot of people. We can't swim and we were afraid of the sun so we didn't go.

By Missing one subject |

It's my first time here, and I wasn't expecting the water to be this blue. Dawang Beach is very nice, but the environmental protection isn't good enough. Such a nice beach shouldn't have some small pieces of trash, and this trash can be cleaned up manually. The entrance fee is 25 ¥, and there are so many tourists. Why not spend a few hundred ¥ to hire someone to clean up the trash on the beach...

By jinsemi |

We went in June and the fee hadn't started yet, but it closed at 5pm. Honestly, with so many places to visit these days, this beach is a bit small, the water isn't very clean, and there are a lot of things on the beach. If it were to charge a fee, I'd think it would be a rip-off... You can go to other beaches on the island.

By Barbarians at the Gate |

It is very small and cannot be compared with Zhujiajian and Jihu beaches. There is a lot of garbage on the beach and no one cleans it up. For beaches of the same size, Dayuwan Beach in Shengshan is better than Dawang Beach in Gouqi.

By Lu Aben 🎈 |

Goji Island is so beautiful that it is the Greece of the loser's mind

By Hu Liangliang |

The beach is average, but the sea water is relatively clean here.

By bloomlynnz |

This time on Goji Island, I stayed at Jiacheng Fisherman's House, very close to Dawang Beach. I stayed on the top floor with a view of the ocean. The service was excellent, and the hostess and uncle were incredibly kind. I went to the market to buy groceries in the morning, and then had the hostess cook for me. She's a great cook. We went on June 1st, which happened to be during the fishing moratorium, so we didn't get to eat crab or shrimp, which was a bit disappointing. Dawang Beach isn't very large, but the water is very clear. The outer sea is even bluer than the inner sea. A single night on the island is enough. My boyfriend and I also visited the Mountain and Sea Wonders, but unfortunately, the weather wasn't sunny on both days, so we couldn't see the sunrise or sunset. Overall, it was worth the trip.

By KOHKIOU |

Dawang Beach is the largest, but the environment is relatively complicated.

By rainbow |

The beach is very small, and the sand is finer where it is closer to the sea. It may look good in the pictures, but if you don't go swimming or boating, the small beach over there is really too small. You can walk across it in less than 2 minutes.

By Jonny |

Zhoushan feels a bit far away, but this place is much better.

By Bei Xiaoxian |

The beach is not big and not very clean. It was off-season when we went there, so it seemed a bit lonely with no one on the beach. It feels nice to walk on the sand when the weather is good.

Dawang Beach is the largest beach on Gouqi Island, measuring approximately 200 meters long and 20 meters wide, making it quite miniature. Admission has been charged since 2015. The sand isn't particularly fine, but the water is clear, though the waves are quite large. Since it was off-season, there was no charge. The only people on the beach were a few tourists who had just arrived on the same boat as us.

The beach may be small, but the moment you step onto it, time slows down. Walking on the sand, watching the sea, listening to the sound of waves hitting the rocks, and letting time slip by is truly relaxing. It's a perfect place for city dwellers to relax and unwind after a week of work.

By Cola |

The beach is not big, but the water is blue. The sand is not fine, so it hurts your feet when you stand in the water. Wearing shoes makes it difficult to swim. However, it is still worth going to this place in the summer, with its salty water and great waves.

By voiceless |

When we went there, Dawang Beach was under renovation, so it was not restored to its original state.

By caki16 |

The water was still a little cold, but there were few people on the beach so I had a blast, catching little crabs alive and having them brought back to Shanghai by my friends.

By sue |

Dawang Beach has had a 30 RMB entrance fee since 2015. The sand quality is not very good; it's quite coarse, with lots of rocks and broken glass. Wearing beach shoes is essential to avoid scratching your feet. While the sand isn't great, the water is quite clear and swimming is possible in the summer. However, after October, the weather cools off, making it difficult to swim, so you can just walk and take photos on the beach. If you're staying in Dawang Village, it's a convenient 5-15 minute walk to Dawang Beach. After enjoying Dawang Beach, head to Shanhaiqi to watch the sunset. This 20-30 minute walk offers beautiful ocean views and is a truly delightful experience.

By wl |

Dawang Beach is the symbol of Goji Island, hahahaha, it's very beautiful and comfortable. Friends who like swimming can swim on the shore~ We also had a barbecue there, =~ hahaha

By Tyrant Bear |

Dawang Beach used to be free, but now you have to pay. The water is relatively clean and suitable for watching the sunset.

By Hao Qi |

Very beautiful memories, meeting the most beautiful you here

By 7_CHen_ |

The single ticket is NT$30, and the combined ticket (which includes the Three Kings Beach, the Mountain and Sea Wonders, and the East Cliff) is NT$80. If you plan to go for sunrise and then get up, buy the combined ticket. If you're not sure whether you can get up or not, buy the individual tickets! Even though there are people managing the beach, there's still a lot of trash! Be careful on the beach.

By Double Gun Clownfish |

The beach was okay, but unfortunately there was a typhoon and swimming was not allowed.

By Fireworks fade quickly |

Starting from July 16th, this place has been cordoned off and admission fee is charged. What a tragedy.

Originally this was the largest beach on Goji Island, very beautiful! Now that they charge admission, it's a bit tragic!

Public transportation doesn't seem to be increasing. Buses are relatively rare and their frequency is irregular. Alas, supporting public services haven't kept up.

By enran |

When I went there, two people just drowned! The beach is quite pebbly! The water is not very clean.

Dawang Beach is the largest beach on Goji Island. It is located in Dawang Village on Goji Island. The beach is about 200 meters long and 20 meters wide. The sand is fine and it is a must-see attraction for tourists to play in the water in summer.

By Whispering |

The King Beach has started charging a fee, 50 yuan per time, and a combined ticket of 80 yuan only allows two entries.

By Swallows released |

This beach is quite large, so if you like large beaches, you can stay nearby.

By wheat |

After arriving at Gouqi Station (in the village), walk out and along the beach you will reach Dawang Beach. On the day I went there, there were still a lot of aquatic plants on Dawang Beach and many workers were working on the construction, so it was not very fun.

By SheenLee |

This is Dawang Beach, where you can see the blue sky, white clouds, sea and surfers.

Although this beach has the word "big" in its name, it is actually quite small.

A was stunned when he saw it and said: "It's really big"

Me: "Small has its advantages. It is convenient for framing and saves you from having to change to a wide-angle lens."

By will_hong |

Although Dawang Beach is not very big in absolute terms, it is still much more enjoyable to play on than other beaches on the island.

By Libra |

The beach is very big. There are more stones on one side, and there are no stones and the sand is very fine on the other side. It was already past 4 pm when we got here.

Holding hands, strolling on the soft beach ~~ from one end to the other ~~ from sunrise to sunset ~

By Sweet |

I love the beach, feeling the sand under my feet flowing under the impact of the sea, this feeling is wonderful and comfortable.

There are many shells on Dawang Beach, and many are buried in the sand, so you need to look carefully for them.

By Years of Love 321 |

The sand here is very soft and fine, and you can sometimes rest your feet on it. The water is also quite clear, but the waves are a bit big, so it is not very suitable for swimming.

By Eat salad dressing every day |

It's a relatively large beach with few small stones. It's not bad.

By 🎀 L*Jing ✨ |

The sand at Dawang Beach after the typhoon is also great, but it will be charged in the future. Yesterday, I met the driver in charge of this project who drove us to the pier for free. The music in the car matched the winding mountain road very well! Haha

After arriving at Dawang Beach, you will have free time to swim in the sea, take photos, play beach volleyball and football, and enjoy the sunshine and sea water.

The view is very wide and the sand is very fine. It is currently under construction and it is estimated that someone will be in charge in July.

Dawang Beach is actually very close to where we live. The sand there is finer and the beach is larger. Once again, I fulfilled my baby's wish and played with the sand for less than 3 hours under the scorching sun, digging sand, building castles, and catching small fish.

By Malkang |

Wave after wave washes the beach clean and the sand is very fine.

By Source File |

The sand is very fine and the water is blue and cool, very comfortable.

By Take a bath |

The water is very clean, there are not many tourists, the sand on the beach is very fine and soft, and relatively clean, but there is no place to wash your feet.

By common |

The breeze was strong and the water was cool that day, so there were quite a few people on the beach, enjoying themselves taking photos and playing in the sand. A few swimmers, however, would come out after a short while because the waves were too big. I was no exception; the water temperature was bearable, but the deeper I swam, the more dizzy I became, so I decided to give up. Back on the beach, I played football with my friends and buried people in the sand. It was a lot of fun.

By Linzi |

Located in Dawang Village, this is the most crowded beach. It should be very lively in the summer.

By Galan Story |

After dinner and packing up, we headed to Dawang Beach, about a five-minute walk away. It's quite small, and after visiting Qingdao, I've always found beaches like this incredibly small. However, it wasn't crowded, either. The wind was strong, and the water was still too cold for swimming (mostly because I forgot my swimming trunks). We set up our tripod and started taking photos, and all sorts of bizarre poses started to appear.

By Pan Xiaoban |

Dawang Beach is quite clean, maybe it is not developed enough...

By Inception |

There are many beaches on Goji Island, and Dawang is the largest one. It is a good choice for taking children on vacation.

By running_ps |

The beach was still open when I went there on May Day, but my mom told me that there would be a fee to go there in August. I saw a bonfire party at night, and it was so exciting to see a group of strangers shouting together!
