Shizhu Lake, formerly known as Dongzhang Reservoir, is located in the Shizhu Mountain Scenic Area. Built in 1958 , it has a storage capacity of 185 million cubic meters and a water surface area of 15 square kilometers. It is the " Mother Lake " of Fuqing and has long played a role in drought resistance and water storage.
The Liyu Mountain in the reservoir is surrounded by misty waves, and the Liwei Mountain to the south is covered with lush forests. The Ziyun Pagoda built here in the Ming Dynasty faces the Shizhu Temple across the lake, forming a unique scene.
