Dongxi Grand Canyon, nestled in Chengxiang Township, nestled in the heart of Yongchun County's highest peak, Xueshan, is the source of Dongxi River, the Jinjiang River, the mother river of Quanzhou City. The 3,800-meter-long canyon boasts towering mountains and picturesque waters, towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, numerous unusual rocks, and lush trees, making it one of the most distinctive canyon landscapes in southern Fujian.
The landscape here is unique, with its waterfalls and unusual rocks as its most notable features. At the end of the canyon, Bailong Waterfall plunges 70 meters, with water cascading down from the snow-capped mountains in a breathtaking display of momentum. Further downstream, waterfalls such as Sandiequan, Fushouquan, and Qinquan form a series of waterfalls, some winding and twisting, some graceful and subtle, and some crashing against the shore, truly breathtaking. Within the canyon, towering cliffs reach a hundred meters, dotted with bizarre rocks and caves, including the Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate, the Guanyin Seat, the Young Monk Listening to Sutras, the Immortal Bridge, and the Immortal Gate. Most breathtaking are the myriad of rock turtles, ninety-nine in total, some supine, some lying, some standing, and some walking. It truly deserves the title of "World Turtle Valley."
