The Shiniushan Scenic Area includes two major scenic areas: the Shiniushan Main Peak Scenic Area and the Daixian Waterfall Scenic Area, and has been successively awarded the titles of "National Forest Park" and "National Geopark".
The mountain is a typical, complete radial volcanic collapse basin. Formed by Mesozoic volcanoes, this peak forms a rich and diverse array of wondrous rock caves. The various myths and legends people have endowed upon this natural landscape add to its allure. Many of the rocks possess wondrous shapes, some steeply cut and suspended like steles, city gates, others shaped like pen holders, couches, flowers, flying phoenixes, and even various animals.
This area is densely dotted with caves, over a hundred in various sizes, each winding and intertwined. Legend has it that during the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty, Taoists Zhang Ziguan of Yongtai, Xiao Langrui of Xianyou, and Zhang Langqing of Minqing once battled demons and monsters here. Dozens of footprints and fingerprints dot the rocks, along with relics like sword-inserting stones, anvil stones, sword-washing springs, stone basins, and ritual performances, leaving the area intriguing.
