Liu'an Mountain, also known as Shuangyu Mountain, lies in the southeast corner of Yongchun County, Fujian Province. It has long been a popular spot for ascending and overlooking the Peach Blossom Land. The Liu'an Pagoda, atop the mountain, is an octagonal, seven-story, plain, hollow, densely eaves, and pointed stone tower. Constructed entirely of granite slabs and sandwiched between reinforced concrete columns, it stands 25 meters tall. Each tier is adorned with brackets, supporting the upper levels. The orange-red glazed tiles contrast strikingly with the light gray granite. Surrounded by lush greenery, the tower appears exceptionally elegant and majestic, becoming a landmark of Yongchun today. The mobile communications tower atop the mountain corresponds to Liu'an Mountain. Several pavilions are currently being constructed amidst the dense forests of Shuangyu Mountain, creating a popular destination for viewing the scenic beauty and enjoying recreation. It has now been designated as Liu'an Mountain Recreation Park.
Liu'an Mountain Hundred Pavilions Park is located in the southeastern suburbs of Yongchun County. Liu'an is the earliest place where overseas Chinese from Yongchun went abroad. In 1430 AD, during the fifth year of the Xuande reign of the Ming Dynasty, Liu Mingfu accompanied the eunuch Zheng He on a diplomatic mission to Southeast Asia. He died of illness in Sumatra the following year. This is the earliest written record of friendly exchanges between Yongchun people and Southeast Asian countries.
The park boasts a subtropical monsoon climate, with a stream facing the park and mountains behind. In summer, the southerly breezes and lush forests provide a welcome relief from the heat. In winter, Shuangyu Mountain blocks the northerly winds, keeping the area warm. This unique location makes it a perfect spot for travel in autumn and winter.
