Rebuilt in the 1980s, the building boasts whitewashed walls, black tiles, and soaring eaves, exuding a simple and elegant aesthetic that embodies the classical gardens of Suzhou.

This place also has a strong connection with film and television. The 1960s film "Satisfied or Not" was based on Deyue Tower; the 1980s film "Little Deyue Tower" was filmed there over three months.
