Fu'an Bridge, located at the eastern end of Zhongshi Street in Zhouzhuang, is a unique architectural form, perfectly integrating bridge and tower. It is also the only surviving three-dimensional bridge-tower structure in the Jiangnan water town. Initially built in the 15th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1355), it was later rebuilt into a stone arch bridge by Shen Wansi, the younger brother of Shen Wansan. The bridge was renamed Fu'an Bridge, symbolizing the desire for both prosperity and peace. His sincere intentions are evident and will be remembered by future generations.

The towers on each side of the bridge rise majestically from the water, facing each other from afar. This impressive structure is the only surviving example of a three-dimensional bridge-tower complex in the Jiangnan water towns. The stone bridge features steps on the east and west sides, a flat surface in the middle carved with relief patterns, and towers at each corner. Five slabs of Wukang stone, rare in the Jiangnan region, adorn the bridge. The longer one on the east side serves as a railing for pedestrians, one serves as a step, and three shorter ones are placed at the west end of the bridge, testifying to the bridge's rich history.

Wukang Stone, mined from the cliffs of Deqing County, Zhejiang Province, boasts a deep ochre color and a surface covered in tiny honeycomb pores, making it resistant to wear and tear. Despite countless footfalls over the centuries, it remains virtually unchanged, remaining smooth even in rain or snow. The four towers flanking the bridge are well-preserved, their eaves, red railings, carved beams, and painted buildings imbued with an antique charm.
