Located at the eastern end of Changshu Ancient City, Fangta Garden is a newly constructed classical garden on the site of a Song Dynasty monument, covering a total area of nearly 30,000 square meters. It is named after the square pagoda within the garden. The pagoda, officially the Chongjiao Xingfu Temple Pagoda, has four sides and nine stories, and is a landmark building in the ancient city of Changshu. Construction began in the Southern Song Dynasty.
The buildings in Fangta Garden are all imitations of Song Dynasty architecture. They are both magnificent and majestic, embodying the cultural heritage and charm of imperial gardens while also incorporating the winding and varied techniques of Jiangnan gardens. Curved bridges, pavilions, verandas, waterside terraces, rocks, and flowers complement each other beautifully. The "Bishuiqinchuan" anti-corruption cultural theme park is located in the northeastern part of the scenic area, while the Changshu City Stele Museum and the Changshu Celebrity Museum are located in the north. Outside the garden, a network of imitation Song Dynasty shops has emerged over the years, forming a "Song Dynasty Street" known as the Changshu Old City God Temple, making it an ideal destination for tourism, leisure, and shopping.
