Located at No. 60 Xinhua East Road, Chengxiang Town, Taicang City, Suzhou, the former residence of Wang Xijue was built during the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty. The existing gatehouse (commonly known as the "Grand Master's Gatehouse") and the Wang Clan Ancestral Hall are three stories high. The gatehouse is five bays wide, with two upper and lower floors on either side of the entrance hall. This style of gatehouse is unique in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions. This building was the residence of Wang Xijue, the first minister during the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty.
